🎓🐾 Penny Graduated! 🐾🎓

4-month-old Cattledog/Heeler mix, Penny, has officially graduated our two-week Board & Train program! And according to her parents, she came to us with two very fitting nicknames: “Barracuda” and “Princess Peach.”Honestly… we can see both! 😂

Penny is an incredibly sweet girl who LOVES her belly rubs just as much as she loves turning human hands and legs into her personal chew toys. With all that Heeler puppy energy, she was always ready to GO! She’s highly energetic, incredibly smart, and absolutely loved learning—but, like any typical Heeler puppy, she also discovered that sometimes the world is just way too interesting to pay attention to her trainer!

During her stay, we worked on basic obedience, puppy manners, listening, and learning how to channel all that energy into better choices. Penny has come a long way, and we’re so proud of this little “Barracuda”!

Keep being your sweet, sassy, energetic self, Penny—but maybe save those teeth for the toys! 🐾

⚔️🐾 ALL HAIL DAIN IRONFOOT! 🐾⚔️

1-year-old American Bulldog, Dain Ironfoot, has officially graduated our two-week Board & Train program!

Named after the legendary dwarf-lord from The Hobbit, our Dain may not rule the Iron Hills or charge into the Battle of Five Armies, but he certainly has the size, strength, and heart of a warrior! And just like his namesake, there’s a whole lot of heart underneath that powerful exterior. ❤️

Our mission was to help Dain understand that good listening doesn’t always come with a snack attached. We worked on building reliability with his commands, especially his recall, so when Dain is called, he knows it’s time to come—even when the treat bag isn’t in sight. We also spent time helping this big guy build confidence and trust in himself.

Watching him become more comfortable and confident throughout his stay was one of our favorite parts of working with him.

He may be named after a legendary warrior, but this Dain is definitely proof that the biggest guys can have the biggest hearts.

🎓Newton has officially graduated! 🎓

Meet Newton, a one-year-old miniature Dachshund who just completed our two-week Board & Train program! This little guy came to us with a big goal ahead of him — getting ready to travel internationally with Mom, which meant making sure his obedience, recall, and leash skills were ready for the adventure ahead. ✈️🌎

Newton is a social little guy who LOVES making friends, and sometimes that means he’d much rather stop and play with every dog he sees than listen to Mom!

We worked on building a stronger recall, improving his overall obedience, and teaching him that walks are about more than just finding the next four-legged friend. He’s learned to stay focused, listen even when distractions are around, and keep those little Dachshund legs moving in the right direction!

Newton made great progress, and we’re so excited to see where his adventures take him. From Nashville to international travels, this little guy is ready to pack his bags and see the world! ✈️🐾🌎

Way to go, Newton! We’re so proud of you! ❤️

Chip and Gus, the adorable Bichon/Shih Tzu brothers, have officially graduated from our two-week board and train program! 🎓🐾

These two came to us with very different personalities, but one thing was clear—they both needed help learning how to make better choices in exciting situations.

At 5 years old, Chip was the confident ring leader. He loved greeting people with all four paws off the ground, chasing and barking at guests (and occasionally giving a little nip), rushing out the front door, pulling on leash, and putting on his best disappearing act anytime it was time to crate or go to place during the day. With a busy household full of kids and friends coming and going, he had plenty of opportunities to practice those habits. Over the last two weeks, Chip learned how to stay calm, listen to commands, and exercise self-control 💪

Gus, at 4½ years old, had a different journey. While he also struggled with jumping on guests, bolting through doors, recall, and reacting to other dogs on walks, his biggest challenge was confidence. He relied heavily on his big brother and wasn’t always sure of himself when they were apart. Watching Gus find his own confidence, trust his training, and blossom into a more independent dog was one of the most rewarding parts of his stay 🥹

These brothers made incredible progress, and we’re so proud of how far they’ve come. Keep up the great work, Chip and Gus! We can’t wait to see you continue to thrive at home. ❤️🐶

🎓 Meet Zen! 🎓

This little 1-year-old Miniature Dachshund may be small, but she came to us with a BIG personality — and a few habits that needed some work!

During her two-week Board & Train, Zen worked hard on:

🐾 Chewing appropriate toys
🐾 Refraining from using her mouth to communicate aka biting
🐾 Barking
🐾 Begging for food
🐾 Potty training
🐾 Building a solid foundation of basic obedience

And look at her now! Zen has learned that good manners, listening, and making better choices are all part of being the best little companion she can be.

We’re so proud of this tiny girl and all the progress she made! Her training journey doesn’t end here — now it’s time for her family to keep practicing and showing her just how much those new skills can improve everyday life.

Way to go, Zen! Your little legs may be short, but you’ve come a LONG way! 🐾

🎓 Gucci Has Graduated! 🎓

Six-month-old Dachshund Gucci has officially graduated from our two-week Board & Train program, and let’s just say… this little guy kept us on our toes and laughing constantly with his BIG personality packed into that tiny body!

Gucci came to us with quite the list of challenges: chewing shoes and anything else he could find, barking for attention while Dad was on the phone, potty training, door bolting, and begging for food.

He also had some serious opinions about walks, listening, being left alone, and even the apartment siding wasn’t safe from those puppy teeth!

We also worked on recall, leash manners, impulse control, and learning that the cat is NOT a chew toy or something to chase. And of course, we addressed his tendency to get a little too mouthy with the girlfriend.

But Gucci’s biggest adventure is still ahead! This little guy will be traveling with Dad on a tour bus as Dad’s music career takes off, so learning how to listen, settle, make good choices, and handle new environments is especially important.

Gucci may have arrived as a tiny four-legged tornado, but he’s leaving with a whole new set of skills—and we’re so proud of him!

Keep being your ridiculously cute, hilarious self, Gucci. Just remember… listening is not optional! 😂🐾

Double the Dachshund, double the graduation!

Georgie, our 9-year-old seasoned sausage, and Peppa, her 1-year-old little sister, just graduated our 2-Week Board & Train Program! And these two came in with some very different challenges to work through.

🐾 Peppa had a few things to learn about being a good little citizen — managing her anxiety and excessive barking around other dogs, keeping her teeth off the household destruction, dropping things when asked instead of turning it into a game, leaving the fence alone, and most importantly, learning that “NO” actually means NO!

🐾 Georgie needed help managing her anxiety around other dogs, which often came out as some very enthusiastic barking. She also needed to learn that when the kids want to interact, growling and the occasional snap aren’t the appropriate way to say, “I’m not in the mood.”

After two weeks of structure, consistency, confidence building, and plenty of practice, both girls have made some awesome progress! They’re heading home with new skills, clearer communication, and a much better understanding of what’s expected of them.

Two different personalities. Two different challenges. One adorable pair of graduates.

Congratulations, Georgie & Peppa! You two are officially ready to take on the world — one tiny little dachshund step at a time!
