The right people make room for you to simply exist. No performing, no proving, no pressure to be anything other than yourself in that moment. ☀️💗

In case you missed the first promotion of this Patrick King Horsemanship clinic, I wanted to send a reminder while there's still time to jump in... registration is closing on Thursday, August 6 (tonight) at 8pm (eastern US).
On August 8th, Patrick King will be hosting a Virtual Benefit Clinic via Zoom, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Josh Nichol and his family.
Many of you know our good friend and colleague, Josh Nichol — whether through his online training, his work with Noelle Floyd, or from when we were presenters at the Best Horse Practices Summit a few years back. We share many students around the world, so you may already be familiar with his incredible work.
Recently, Josh was severely injured in a freak accident while teaching a clinic, and fully healing is going to take a long time.
As an auditor, you’ll get a front-row seat to a series of live 1-hour lessons covering a variety of horses and riders. Each block includes 45 minutes of live coaching followed by 15 minutes of interactive Q&A where you can ask questions, dissect the concepts, and deepen your understanding of horse handling and training principles.
Includes a 1-hour lesson block (45 minutes of instruction + 15-minute open Q&A).
Q&A is open to the riders and the auditors.
How to Get Involved:
🐴 RIDER SPOTS ARE FILLED
🎟️ AUDITOR SPOTS ($50/person)
Open to everyone, anywhere in the world via Zoom!
Watch the lessons live and participate in the interactive 15-minute Q&A sessions following each rider.
Can't make it live? No problem! A full Zoom recording will be provided to all registered auditors to watch on replay for 2 weeks following the clinic.
Please consider joining us, auditing, or simply sharing this email to help spread the word. Let’s rally together and give Josh and his family the support they need right now so that he can focus on healing.
Remember: Registration is closing on August 6 at 8pm (eastern US).

Behaviour can change because a horse has learned how to avoid discomfort, earn relief or produce the response we are looking for. From the outside, this may look like progress. The horse stands still, moves forward, lowers their head or completes the task. Yet the outward result does not always tell us what has changed internally.

When safety becomes part of the learning process, the horse begins developing more than a correct response. They discover that they can remain present during uncertainty, recover after becoming unsettled and stay connected without losing their sense of agency. They learn that a difficult moment does not always lead to overwhelm and that they have some influence over what happens within the interaction.

This gradually changes the horse’s internal map of the world. Experiences that once felt unmanageable can become something they know how to move through. Their capacity grows, and with it comes greater flexibility. They can think while experiencing emotion, communicate more clearly and return to regulation more easily when something challenges them.

This is why meaningful change cannot always be measured by how quickly a horse performs a behaviour. Sometimes the deeper progress is found in how they feel while doing it, how much of themselves remains present and how readily they recover afterwards.

We are helping the horse build a new expectation of themselves: I can meet something unfamiliar, remain connected to my body and find my way through.

That belief reaches far beyond a single exercise. It changes what the horse carries with them into everything that comes next.
