I'm finally feeling better and drinking water and eating chicken. Yesterday's eye surgery was tough but I'm almost back to being me. Thanks for all the well wishes. Woof

Here's a remarkable account of my journey, Kraz. I'm a 16 yr old Japanese Chin dog. Yesterday, February 6th, 2026 was supposed to be a routine day for my eye surgery, but it turned into so much more. My human sister, Doris, accompanied me, and two hours post-operation, we began our drive home under the effects of sedation.

As we made our way down the road, I suddenly let out a distressed cry and high pitched screams, circled twice in the front seat, and collapsed. Doris quickly pulled over to a nearby side street, caressing and rubbing my chest in an attempt to revive me. I lay sprawled out, unconscious, and Doris, filled with concern, urged me to wake up, confessing her love and fearing the worst as she couldn't detect a heartbeat. She told me not to die. Despite her pleas, I remained unresponsive and she rushed me back to the veterinary hospital. Along the way a faint heartbeat. The moment we arrived, I regained consciousness as Doris scooped me up, and the veterinary team, alerted by her call, awaited us at the door. They administered a medication to counteract the adverse effects, and shortly after, we were on our way home, exhausted and still feeling sedated.

Doris said that during this critical moment, we passed a significant spot - a funeral home on the exact same street where my mom Joyce's remains are kept as of today still. She passed away on January 25th. It's comforting to think that mom Joyce was watching over me and gave me life again, reminding us that love transcends and our lost loved ones bonds are unbreakable. I was saved.
