What an honor to receive this plaque and it isn’t just something to hang on the wall.

It’s a reminder of what happens when local businesses choose to invest in something bigger than themselves.

Last year, we were honored to be asked to sponsor the Golden Corral at GoldenFest XV, supporting the incredible work of Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida. Seeing hundreds of happy dogs, families, volunteers, and rescue organizations come together reminded me why I started building this community in the first place.

Community over competition.
Dogs over differences.

People coming together because they share one thing in common, a love for our four-legged family members. ❤️🐾

I’m incredibly grateful to Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida for this recognition and to be apart of their legacy, and even more grateful for everything they do to give deserving dogs a second chance.

If you’ve never experienced GoldenFest, picture a sea of wagging tails, rescue organizations, vendors, demonstrations, raffles, and thousands of dog lovers all in one place. It’s one of Southwest Florida’s premier dog events, and every dollar raised helps rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Golden Retrievers in need.

We hope to see so many familiar Barkyard faces there this November. Let’s continue supporting organizations that make a real difference for dogs across our community. 💛

Your dog is talking to you all day long… just not with words. 👀

Learning to read their body language can completely change the way you understand them, build trust, and prevent stressful situations before they happen.

A play bow? 🎾 “Let’s have fun!”

Rolling over? 🤍 “I trust you.”

A stiff body and cautious stance? ⚠️ “I’m unsure right now.”

The more we slow down and observe, the more we realize our dogs have been communicating with us the entire time. 🐶✨

💡 Wisdom from Rio: Before correcting a behavior, ask yourself…

“What is my dog trying to tell me?”

Sometimes they’re not being stubborn… they’re simply communicating.

🐾 Understanding dog body language is one of the most important skills every dog owner can learn.
