Meet Mary and the coolest horse in all the land! Cool Down 5 🦄 Our next rider to highlight as a top 10 qualifier for The League National Finals!

Mary is new to CSF …but she has our “DNA” as her passion for horses and the jumper ring is front and center:)

Mary and “Coolio” have just started competing as a pair this year shortly after the Terranova Winter Series. But it did not take them long to become a successful partnership. Solid ribbons came quickly because she is one that does her homework and takes her lessons seriously.

It has been very easy to work with one who is eager to learn, asks good questions and has the desire to excel both as a student and an equestrian athlete.

Coolio is exactly THAT! As a former GP horse - he is an excellent teacher - patient yet demands correct riding …he loves the ring and competition almost as much as Mary does🩷

What we love so much is the tender heart that Mary has for those who also are eager to learn, as a summer intern Mary assisted trainers with our summer riding sessions for beginners, learned about and helped care for our “”vintage” ponies, worked side by side with us to practice good aftercare like poulticing legs, perfecting the standing wrap and helping assess the herd each day for any issues that needed to be addressed …like I said - she has CSF DNA! A love for learning each and every day.

We are excited to support Mary ringside as her coaching staff -and she has put in the blood, sweat and tears to get here in just a very short timeframe.

Homework pays off …we are ready to COMPETE 🐴🩷🐴

Meet our next League Finalist! Katherine and Vanilla Mail!

This duo puts in ALL the effort …and it had been hard work …and Kat is always there for her horse …good times … and naughty times when Vanilla decides blue flowers are MONSTERS 👿

Vanilla was a former GP horse who jumped the big tracks …yes …this 15.3h power house jumped in Paris at the Longines in her hey Dey!

Now at 18 years young Vanilla enjoys doing the derbies and the children’s hunters - and Kat has been an exemplary student both in the saddle and as a horseman.

I never have to worry if her tack is clean, boots immaculate and horse that shines because she dotes on her daily - grooming, using all the tips to get that “Phil DeVita Sr” tail…. My former coach would stick his hand with fingers spread into my horse’s tail and SWISH …if he hit a tangle it was back to the barn to brush that tail until it was silky!

I am honored to be her coach …because she actually embodies the spirit we foster at CSF

Even with MONSTER blue flowers …that scared vanilla …they still ended up Circuit Reserve Champion at Terranova this spring …and is sitting first in our Zone and 5th in the National Standings for The League Finals.

She never gave up on her horse…and her horse followed that heart ♥️

You GO girl!

We’ve come a Long WAY Baby! We celebrate with our next League Finalist!

Avery and “Be Quick” are ready to ROCK in NY! Avery has ridden many lesson horses in her time with us at CSF going back to early elementary school….

As a Senior this year (My how time Flies!!) she has moved up the ranks quickly with her partner of less than a year - Tino🩷

What a sweet and honest young horse - this pair has worked hard to put on muscle, hone their jumper ring skills and were Circuit Champions in the 1M Junior Jumper division at Terranova …hard to believe just a year ago she was showing Southbound …the perfect first jumper to get her ready for this new endeavor! Can’t forget ET at KY Horse Park!

WOW …how much she has grown both as a rider and a student…

Proud to be her coach …so excited to see this come together for them!

We will be cheering them on in the 1.05M jumper finals …currently sitting in the top ten in both the zone AND National standings!

Let’s GOOOOO!!!!

Meet Our Youngest League Finalist! Willow age FOUR - preparing for her FIRST National Finals Competition 🤪

With the “vintage” pony partner Cornerstone’s First Frost who is 30 years young 🩷

Willow and “Penelope” compete in the Leadline Division…some shows just give out blue ribbons to all…but for The League the classes are offered as a full division at the walk and trot with the Leadline optional. They are judged and placed like any other competitive class at the horse show.

Willow has one class judged on her position (equitation class), one class judged on her pony”s manners and how well they work together (pleasure class) and then a final class over a course of poles on the ground.

Judges interview each rider asking horsemanship based questions.

She has been working very hard to prepare for the Finals and this will be her FIRST time to NY!🩷

Guarantee it won’t be her last …:this kiddo loves her horses and the spotlight

Getting Ready! CSF has DONE our homework! We have groomed, ridden, shown at different venues and worked hard in our clinics and lessons ….

ITS TIME for NY!!!

Only the top 75 in each division get to compete on the national stage with riders from all over the USA ….🐎🤠🐎

ALL of our show team qualified to go!

It’s never easy to say goodbye …we know they can’t live forever …but this is the end of an era - such a special mare who survived SO much …and ALWAYS gave us her very best

RIP Gracie - The Great Pumpkin …please help us remember this special horse by sending us your favorite memory of her

I am so blessed with young ladies who are COACHABLE and work together as a team …we have been preparing ALL year for Marshall & Sterling Finals in NY. Last weekend despite rain our kiddos went to HITS Ocala for a fantastic weekend schooling show hosted by LCT!

We are looking good! So proud of everyone!
We were top 3 in EVERY CLASS with solid competition and well designed, challenging courses!

Can’t wait for September!

So it’s BOOT CAMP at CSF!
This is our annual week of horsemanship, riding tests and challenging our riders to become ATHLETES…whether getting ready to show for the first time or our seasoned competitors heading off to fall Finals …all ages and abilities are invited to participate

Signs of hope …after several tough years..watching my lesson horses age like vintage w**e, stepped down appropriately from jumping to flat, from poles to just WT, then leadline and horsemanship …some just don’t EVER want to stop! They love being with the kids and having a purpose.

We got a scare this winter …in January our beloved Navajo had a nasty abscess that would not go away …the diagnosis

CANCER

The good news …we caught the keratoma early …and with the skill of Dr. Harvey and our Amazing farrier “Mr. Dale” and a huge amount of daily care from our staff (thank you Emily Nash, Taylor Cox and Emily Peterson) ….

This pony is so loved by many …he bravely stood through a full resection, was patient on stall rest, let us treat and wrap his foot daily along with handwalks EVERY AM & PM … he transitioned to walks under tack in the barn aisle to keep him clean and dry ….

In just 5 months - we grew out that resection! No shoe! Healthy foot and NO CANCER!

He was THRILLED to be back at camp this summer with little kiddos loving him and riding him ….

I am not sure who is smiling more …Willow loving his steady eddy trot … or Navajo patiently keeping cadence with his kids on his back!

Keep on trucking my little “Gingerbread Man”!

Makes my heart feel good after so much we went through over the last few years as a family to see Willow riding one of the BEST ponies a program could ever hope to have!
