🔬🐾 The results are in… Malibu is a BIG catch!

We conducted a very scientific experiment to show just how big our sweet Malibu really is! 🧪

At just 1 year old and 65 pounds, this suspected Great Pyrenees mix has a whole lot of fluff and even more love to give! 🤍

Our conclusion? Malibu is a BIG girl with an even BIGGER heart, and she's ready to find her forever home! 🏡💚

We’re so excited to kick off our new Volunteer Spotlight series with Leon, our October Volunteer Spotlight! 🐾

What inspired you to start volunteering with PBHSN?

“Happiness for me is working with my canine friends and companions. What keeps me going is not only the dogs, but also the staff and my fellow volunteers. I consider this my PBHSN family.”

What has been your favorite or most memorable moment as a volunteer so far?

“First and foremost, it’s the dogs like Zelda, Toby, Presley and countless others. I also cherish the interaction with the volunteers and staff, learning from them, and sharing so many happy and not-so-happy moments together.”

When did you start volunteering with PBHSN?

“It goes back almost five years ago to the day, right after I moved to Florida. I met Kim, who was working as a part-time development consultant on major donor projects and grants, when she sat at our table for breakfast. After chatting, she gave me a tour of PBHSN, and I’ve been volunteering ever since. I finally had time after all the years to spend time volunteering.”

We are so grateful for Leon’s nearly five years of dedication, heart and love for our animals. Thank you for being such an important part of the PBHSN family, Leon! 💛

🚨🐾 URGENT: 10 DOGS NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR JUST TWO WEEKS! ❤️

We need your help! These 10 sweet pups are looking for temporary foster homes where they can relax, get some extra love, and enjoy a little break from the shelter!

As a precaution following an upper respiratory infection (URI) in our intake area, we’re urgently looking for foster homes where these dogs can spend their two-week health observation period.

What we’re looking for: Foster homes with no other pets or the ability to keep their foster dog completely separate from other animals for the full two weeks.

We need to find homes for all 10 dogs as soon as possible! Just two weeks of your time can make a BIG difference for these pups. ❤️

A little throwback to an unforgettable event with The Kitten Lady!

We loved getting to bring our community together for a day full of learning, kittens, and so much love for animals.

In case you missed it, thanks to a grant from DeVoe Subaru of Naples, PBHSN will be hosting a FREE community veterinary event! 🐾

We’ll be offering:
• Rabies vaccines
• Distemper vaccines for dogs
• Microchips

Plus, there will be a food truck on-site and raffle prizes you won’t want to miss!
No appointment is needed , just stop by!
Please make sure dogs are leashed and cats are safely secured in carriers.

We’re so grateful for Subaru’s support in helping us provide these important services to pets and families in our community!
