June is National Microchipping Month!

Have you ever wondered what happens when your pet gets microchipped? This quick behind-the-scenes look shows the entire process, from scanning to placement and registration.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that microchips are GPS trackers. They’re not! 

A microchip doesn’t track your pet’s location or require batteries. Instead, it contains a unique ID number that can be scanned by veterinary clinics, animal shelters, and police stations to help reunite lost pets with their families. 

A registered microchip provides permanent identification that stays with your pet for life.

This June, every pet spayed or neutered at Paws for a Cause Vet Care will receive a FREE microchip through July 3.

Paws for a Cause Vet Care, in partnership with the Posen Park District, is excited to offer a FREE Pet Vaccine Clinic for Posen residents on Sunday, July 12, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Memorial Park!

The first 125 pets will receive free vaccines, helping local families keep their pets healthy and protected. Please note that proof of Posen residency is required, and there is a maximum of 3 pets per household.

Available vaccines include:
•Rabies (1- or 3-year)
•DHPP (Dogs)
•DHLPP (Dogs)
•FVRCP (Cats)
and Microchips

A Cook County rabies tag must be purchased at the time of rabies vaccination.

This event is first-come, first-served and is designed to help make preventive veterinary care accessible to local pet owners. Arrive early, as services are limited to the first 125 pets.

Love at First Meow is one of our Rescue Relief Partners, a program that helps 501(c)(3) animal rescues and shelters access affordable veterinary care so they can save even more lives.

For several years, Gloria has trusted Paws for a Cause Vet Care to help prepare rescue cats for their forever homes. Today, we're spaying and neutering five more adorable felines who are one step closer to finding loving families of their own ❤
