🐂 Are you ready for fall? 🐃 We are!
Come on out to the Owyhee County Fair and see our brand new setup for fall work. We just added a 32' portable Daniels alleyway to our arsenal of equipment to get the job done faster and put less stress on the cattle. With no-backs and adjustable side squeeze, we can move easily from cows straight to calves. We've also upgraded our hydraulic chute to offer even more convenience and insight for the producer. The new chute has certified scales and Bluetooth capability to record, store, and transfer animal IDs and weight. It's all set up and ready to show off on the lawn behind the arena. We'll be around the fair Friday evening and most of the day Saturday to answer questions and are always available by phone.

The long hot days of summer are giving way to the welcoming cool of our favorite season, Fall. That reminds us, fall cattle work is just around the corner!

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the ranchers and families affected by the fire between Jordan Valley and Marsing. Travis is actually stuck in Jordan Valley until the road opens again. If anyone needs help going and checking their livestock by horseback please let us know and we would be more than happy to lend a hand.

We would like to congratulate all the 4-H and FFA members on the successful sales of their livestock at the Canyon and Owyhee county fairs this year. You all looked great and we are so happy to see the next generation getting a smart start in agriculture.

While Trich testing is mandatory, here's some numbers to show the effectiveness

Trich is a silent thief—silent, that is, until a rancher with a herd chronically infected with trich realizes just how much money could have been pocketed if the herd was clean. Here’s a look at the numbers.

Worth a read and from a great source.

Calves weaned at 120 to 160 days gain as much weight and are just as healthy as calves that are weaned later.

Agri Beef gambled that consumers wanted more premium meat. That bet is paying off.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those fighting fires that are threatening their livestock. We hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July, stay cool out there!
