I still can't fathom such evil people exist.
The video of the vet surgically removing the foreign body is in the comments.
Just know, you will answer to God. No horrible, sick act such as this goes unpunished.
💥 TRIGGER WARNING - ABUSE 💥
Forgive me for this post, because it’s gonna be a long one. A partnering shelter reached out to us, asking if we had the means to take a kitten with some complicated medical concerns. He wasn’t able to swallow, but they weren’t able to figure out why. We’re full. Like REALLY full, but they said they felt we were his only hope in figuring things out, and he’d otherwise be facing euthanasia. So again, we all scooched down and made room. His shelter name was Thackery Binx. So far, we’ve left his name, as we had far bigger things to worry about.
I’ll spare you all the in between, nitty gritty details and jump ahead to his barium study, which involves giving a contrast liquid by mouth that shows up on X-rays, allowing us to track its movement through the digestive tract and identify potential blockages or abnormalities. Within seconds, it was clear that the abnormalities we were feeling weren’t as absurd as we were SURE they had to be. There was really something the LENGTH of this kitten, stuck inside of him. So into emergency surgery he went, where we found not one, but TWO long, firm plastic objects that absolutely, positively were jammed down his throat intentionally. At just 1 1/2 pounds, he could NOT have eaten them on his own. Someone purposefully and maliciously shoved these long objects down his throat until one end of them pushed his stomach into his pelvis, and the other end lodged itself into the inside of his neck, where he has spent the last 2 weeks suffering in pain and misery.
Each of the objects measured 8.34 inches in length, just one single inch shorter than his entire length from chest to rear. There wasn’t a single moment he didn’t feel pain. He couldn’t even curl up to sleep, as he was forcibly fixed in this horrendous straight position, prisoner to the torture inflicted upon him by a sadistic human being.
So at just 8 weeks old, he underwent open abdominal surgery to correct something that never should have been wrong in the first place.
We are still trying to understand how someone could be so cruel, but the reality is, it’s not something someone ever CAN understand. There’s never a reason in the world to harm and torture an animal, especially an innocent little baby. It’s sick, it’s twisted, and this person is for sure gearing up to be a danger to society. We have notified the shelter of our findings and truly do hope they follow up with his finder, who claimed to have had him for 2 weeks prior to surrender, because someone has explaining to do.
Right now, Thackery is working to heal, both physically and emotionally. He’s on IV antibiotics, pain medication, and a new feeding plan to help him gain weight. We hope to make this entire nightmare a thing of the past for him. He’s super sweet, affectionate, and wants so badly to be loved by the very species that just did him so dirty.

[ If anyone happens to know WHAT these objects are, feel free to share. We haven’t been able to confidently identify them. ]
