Last week we said goodbye to Barron. My precious Barron boy; my Pooh Bear. He was in my life for the past 13 years, 2 months and 22 days and during that time we walked through so much life together. But lately he had been slowing down, his body was tired and as I laid on the kitchen floor beside him that last night - telling him how much I loved him, holding his paw and thinking about all the many things we had gone through togetherโฆ
My Mom going to heaven, moving 3 times in 3 years, him needing 2 TPLO surgeries that were unfortunately unsuccessful, saying goodbye to Maddie, Maya and Emma. How he held me up when things at work tested me and made me question everything. How he slept at my feet during all the late nights of trying to build a business, starting over and then having to rebuild it again. How he loved and helped me through all of it as only the most loyal and loving Golden can. How he kept me going.
And I remembered the fun times together tooโฆ how he loved a car ride, hiking, chasing a tennis ball and swimming. I mean the boy LOVED to swim! Creeks, rivers or ponds - it didnโt matter but his most favorite place of all was swimming in Bear Lake! Thousands of pictures and countless memories made for sure.
I only ever spent one night away from Barron so itโs hard to express all the memories made during our 13+ years together. He holds the record for the longest living Golden I have ever had. A bittersweet record to now have - but one I will cherish nonetheless!
I love you my sweet boy.
Iโm glad youโre not in pain anymore.
Thank you for taking such good care of your mama.
Iโm sorry I couldnโt give you a better life.
Happy swimming. Iโll see you at the lake.
Iโll love you forever my Pooh Bear.
