Maddy was new to me for her groom! She is 13 years young and I enjoyed spending time with her.

Sometimes senior dogs don't handle the grooming process as well as they used to, because it's a lot of work to look this cute!

One of the best parts about being trained as a master groomer is the skill to let the dogs do what they need to do for comfort but also still be able to complete their service successfully.

This was Nala's first visit to me and she did such a great job!

She got a Fresh and Fancy Bath service, which included a bath, blow dry, brush out, nail trim + file, and ear cleaning, as well as trimming her front and back leg feathers and her underline.

Fancy Paws is a one-on-one and all-inclusive service, so she was finished in an hour and a half with all the bells and whistles.

Dagny had a great Barn Hunt weekend at our local club's October trial! She got her CZ8S title with 1000 points earned in Crazy 8s now. She also had 4 qualifying Master B runs, and she's more than halfway to her RATCH.

I love trialing with this girl, she's always so eager to hunt (and these days, less eager to tunnel).

Back to the working world on Tuesday 🐾

Not every dog needs a haircut every visit! Luna got a bath service this visit, with a face, feet, and sanitary trim to go with it.

If you like your dog fluffy, it serves them well to come in every 4-6 weeks, sometimes more. The longer the coat, the more frequent the visits needed, for coat maintenance.

Klaus is a frequent flyer on my feed because he's so handsome, and for a while I was seeing him a lot as I worked on my master certification.

He's a joy to have on my table! He's a Giant Schnauzer and in this photo he's in a breed standard trim ✂️

6 Fast Cat runs in 3 years (4 this weekend) and Dagny got her BCAT 😊

Fast Cat was actually the first sport we ever did in 2023, right before we started attending Barn Hunt practices.

It was so nice to finally title in it 🥰

What a week! Groomers have a whole career and trade community that meets up several times a year. We teach, we learn, we commune, we compete, and we shop.

This year, I went to Groom Expo in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is a big show for us. I've always wanted to go, and this year I got to!

I talked to a lot of people, went to 17 hours of continuing education, met some of the people I admire in the grooming field, bought new equipment, and explored some of Hershey (including the rollercoasters at Hersheypark). Making it even better, Alyssa joined me at the last minute, so we got to experience it together 🐾

It's been a busy year so far, and putting all I learned and refreshed in my memory into place after Groom Expo will make it a busy end-of-year, but I can't wait to do things better than I did before.
