🐱 Pet of the Week 🐶

Meet our Pet of the Week, Duk Duk!! Duk Duk was at the Outer Banks SPCA and found her furever home about a year ago with the most amazing family.

She went through heartworm treatment at the end of last year and just had her recheck test and she is NEGATIVE!!!!! We are so happy for Duk Duk and her sweet family.

Some paw prints never fade. 🌈🐾

Today, on National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we remember the beloved pets who forever changed our hearts. They were more than patients—they were cherished family members, loyal companions, and best friends.

We were honored to be a small part of their journey, from wagging tails and happy visits to the moments that mattered most. Every pet we care for leaves a lasting mark on our hearts, and these sweet souls will never be forgotten.

To the families who entrusted us with their care, thank you. We know the love you shared doesn't end with goodbye. We hope that today brings comfort in the memories, the laughter, and the unconditional love that will always live on.

🌊💧 July is Pet Hydration Month! 🐾

Life on the Outer Banks means beach days, boat rides, long walks, and plenty of time in the sunshine. While you're soaking it all in, don't forget your pet needs plenty of water too!

Here are a few easy ways to help keep them hydrated this summer:
☀️ Pack fresh water anytime you head to the beach or out on the boat. Saltwater is never safe for pets to drink.
🏖️ Take water breaks often, even if your pet doesn't seem thirsty.
🚶 Plan walks in the cooler morning or evening hours to help prevent overheating.
🥣 Keep water bowls full with cool, fresh water throughout the day, and consider placing extra bowls around the house or yard.
👀 Watch for signs of dehydration like excessive panting, dry gums, tiredness, or sunken eyes.

Summer adventures are even better when everyone stays safe and hydrated. A little planning goes a long way toward keeping tails wagging all season long. 💙

Garry, 16 year old brown tabby male cat, was last seen at 150 Etheridge rd in Manteo Thursday morning. He has a collar on with his name on it.

🐱 Pet of the Week 🐶

Meet our Pet of the Week, Winky!!!! Winky is a 9 week old kitten who was found in Avon with a feral colony. His eye was not looking very good so Friends of Feline - Cape Hatteras Island brought him in.

He had surgery about 3 weeks ago and is doing GREAT in his new home!!
