May is National Chip Your Pet Month πΎ
One of the most common things we hear is:
βHe never goes anywhere.β
βSheβs strictly indoor only.β
βHe doesn't leave my side.β
And most of the time, thatβs trueβ¦ until the one time it isnβt. Doors get left open. Harnesses slip. Vacation routines change. Pets panic in unfamiliar places. Even the most loyal pets can get lost in a matter of seconds.
Meet Joey. Joey belongs to our receptionist and was staying with her sister in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for a few weeks. While no one was home, he managed to sneak outside and disappear on a little unauthorized adventure. Thankfully, Animal Control safely picked him up and scanned his microchip. Once his chip was entered into the database, Jami immediately received a text and email from 24PetWatch letting her know Joey had been found and how to contact the officer caring for him. Because Joeyβs microchip information was ππππππππππ
and ππ ππ π
πππ, he made it home safely.
A microchip is one of the best safety nets you can give your pet. It takes just seconds to scan, but it can make all the difference during a stressful situation.
Already chipped? This is your reminder to double check that the microchip is registered AND your phone number and email are current.
