What a sick day looks like when you have a dachshund. Stella is my self-appointed comforter. She’s so good at her job!

My dogs have such a tough life …

Timeline and availability update: our girl Kali is in heat, and this was the heat we hoped to breed her for the first time, but … the timing isn’t right for us personally, once we lay the dates and times out and compare them to our upcoming plans. We will be skipping this heat and waiting until her next one. That puts us probably having no more pups available this year. Spring of 2027 looks to be a busy time here at Texas Teckels! If you are wanting a pup, be sure you are on our waiting list! In the meantime, we snuggle and play and explore our yard! Just remember, anything worth having is worth waiting for!❤️ And our babies are DEFINITELY worth waiting for!

Nik joined our family in 2013. Both of kids had left home, and I needed a lap baby. Never dreamed of the difference one little yellow puppy could make in our lives … my “lap baby” became the foundation sire for Texas Teckels. His blood runs through every puppy born here. Never think one dog can’t change your whole world! He’s slowed way down, but he still loves us just as hard and big!

Halle says she sure is glad her waitstaff is back from their vacation so she can get her concierge service back on a full-time basis! We are blessed with a family member who can take care of our pups when we have to be away, but they miss us and we miss them! They were super-excited when we got home yesterday!

I’m 62, so my memories are very vivid. I had an uncle who was flying for United, and spent several fearful hours praying for his safety as well as for all others who were in harms way, fearful, injured, or mourning. This day still breaks my heart and soul. Never forget!
