Y’all broke a record! Halloween Camp sold out in record time this year.... both dates were full in less than ONE HOUR after opening registration.

We are so grateful for the incredible enthusiasm and support for our camps. It means so much to us that your kids are this excited to come spend their days at the barn. 🧡🐴

If you missed out this time, keep an eye out for the next one! (And if you would like to be added to the text list to be the first to know about camps, send me a PM and I'll add you.)

We're excited for camp... and for the cooler weather that will hopefully have made its way here by then!! 🍂🍂

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for… Intermediate Camp photos!

Intermediate Camp is usually my favorite camp week, and this year was no exception. Most of these girls had either spent the summer counseling our Beginner Camps or have been around Mulberry long enough to know the drill, so we could pretty much just get straight to the riding and the fun.

And ride we did! I was so proud of the progress these girls made over the course of the week. We saw some SERIOUSLY improved canter transitions, improved softness and relaxation, and even a first ba****ck canter!

The campout was definitely one of the highlights of the week... and apparently we were so busy having fun that we managed to take a grand total of ONE picture during the entire campout. 🙈🙈

Such a fun week with such a great group of girls. 💕

Summer Camp 2026 is officially in the books! I'm a little behind on sharing photos, so we're taking a quick trip back to our final Beginner Camp session from early July.

During this session, our big focus was on good sportsmanship. Camp games can get pretty competitive, and it can be easy to get too focused on winning. We talked a lot about the importance of keeping a good attitude, win or lose, and on being supportive of your teammates. I was tickled with how they were figuring it out throughout the week. By the end of the week, I was hearing lots of "Good game!" and "Great job!" comments.

And then this sweet group of kids, ON THEIR OWN, decided to make Ava (our pre-teen helper) a gift basket of her favorite snacks to thank her for her hard work throughout the week. They noticed how she would make trip after trip back to the barn while the campers were riding to fetch water, a clipboard, another bottle of water, the megaphone, the dice, a third bottle of water... all without a single complaint. Ava was very surprised on the last day of camp when the campers presented her with her gift!

Stay tuned... I'll be posting photos from our Intermediate Camp soon!

This was our first year doing a Novice Teen camp, and it was so much fun. The first part of the week involved some musical horses to swap campers and horses around, but by the end of the week everyone had found their perfect match and they all killed it at the dressage showcase on Friday.

Thanks everyone for another great camp week!

It is already hot, hot, hot outside and hopefully everyone is making extra sure that their horses are not getting over heated. Here's some quick tips for showering your horse to make sure they're staying cool and comfortable after every ride!

1) Cool water should be continuously ran over the horse UNTIL THEY ARE COOL. This can take between 5-20 minutes depending on how hot they got. This is not a 30 second wetting.

2) The most important locations are the neck, back, haunches and between the hind legs. This doesn't mean we neglect their the other parts, but these 4 areas need the most concentration. (I do not spray faces. Most horses don't like it, and I don't blame them. Faces I will wipe with a clean, wet rag.)

3) Periodically check the temperature of the water on the horse. If touch your horse and the water feels warm, keep going. If the water is cool to the touch, the horse is cool.

4) I like to scrape my horses after they are cool to encourage quicker evaporation. It's humid here in East Texas, and the air doesn't evaporate sweat/water as well as drier climates, so the less water left on the horse, the quicker it will evaporate.

5) Heavy, labored breathing is a sign your horse got very hot. In these case the horse may need to be hosed longer. You should hose them until they are breathing normally and cool to the touch. A fan circulating air will help them cool faster. Keep a better eye on their workload next time.

This is what dedication looks like. 💪 It was pouring rain for 15 minutes during Allison's lunge lesson with Quinn and Hank. The camera didn't pick the rain up, but you can hear it on the covered arena roof.

Hank has a sizable trot and Quinn is learning to sit it so they can canter together!

You go girls!
