Rocking AT Performance Horses This page is to show case the horses I have owned in the past and present as well as to provide a place to advertise current horses and horses in training.

I have been beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to own, train, and jockey so many phenomenal horses in my life. I have always had to "make" my own horse as I have grown up and for that I am very grateful! I am now accepting outside horses in for training and I hope that this page will help my future clients to be able to get to know me a little better through the horses I have ridden/trained in the past. I would also like to use this page as a place to keep people updated on the horses I currently have for sale and in training.

Bond got to tag along to Top Shelf Breeders and do some exhibitions. Only his second time to town and he handled it like an old pro! Can't wait for 2028 Aint Seen Nothin Yet

Who here has mares cycling HARD this fall? πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
I decided to try something new and use my acuscope and myopulse to treat her "liver 3" acupressure points to hopefully help her be a happier girl

Pretty surreal moment to get to lope the first horse I bred, raised, broke and trained, around the barrels πŸ₯°. Bond feels so much like his momma; it’s amazing and hard all at the same time to be so reminded of her πŸ₯Ή. What a gift it is to have this piece of her ❀️.

Do I need to say it again?

Horses put their bodies through hell to do the things we ask them to do.
As a general rule the higher caliber the horse the more maintenance they will require. Why is this? Because they are exerting themselves that much harder. For every half second you shave off your runs you are adding significant wear and tear to your horses body. We expect these horses to go out and preform miracles over and over again and a lot of the time in less than ideal ground. So maintaining them should be at the top of your priority list! Don’t wait until they are showing signs of something being wrong before you get them checked out. Don’t wait until they are injured and have to have months or years off to recover. Staying up on regular maintenance can buy you years of success with a horse. Be proactive!
Also DON’T OWN A 1D BARREL HORSE IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAINTAIN IT!
Top 1D horses literally go out and tear themselves up every run they make. Even though breeding has progressed so much over the last few years to produce horses that are designed to β€œrun barrels” horses in general are not made to do this job. Superior breeding has produced horses that are faster and more athletic, but the faster they run the more strain they put on their bodies. Thankfully VET care has also progressed significantly over the years. We now have so many resources available to help our equine athletes compete comfortably at a high level. It is your responsibility to utilize these resources. It takes a lot of TIME and MONEY to maintain a 1D horse. If you can’t make the commitment don’t take one on.

When your horse literally leaps around the backside of the barrel to try not to hit it πŸ˜…. A little wild but good enough for second today! Addi always keeps me on my toes πŸ˜†.

This can go for buying a horse that’s already winning and maybe it doesn’t work out for you, or owning and training a horse you know will be a winner but you can’t seem to get it out of them.

Not every horse is going to fit you. You have to be okay with that. That doesn’t mean the horse isn’t a talented horse. It just means its talents may be better shown or brought out by another jockey. There is no shame in that.

I’m just as guilty as the next person of trying to conform to a talented horse and not wanting to give up on them. Sometimes hard work and dedication does pay off, but at what cost? The longer you spend on a horse that doesn’t fit you, the more you lose mentally and monetarily. It can be a big hit to your confidence to try to change yourself to fit a horse and fail at it over and over again.

There are SO MANY nice horses out there. Don’t be afraid to let go of what’s not working for you to make room for another horse that may be your perfect match 🩷.

β€œPeople who don’t have horses sometimes say to me, β€œhorses sure are beautiful, but why do you have all these animals that demand so much of your time and your finances. It seems you live at the barn. You could probably have a spare room at the vet clinic with as much time as you spend there”.

They say, β€œif you got rid of your horses, you could buy a really nice house without worrying about all the upkeep of the land. You could go on amazing vacations and never have to worry about finding someone to care for your horses. You wouldn’t be tied down and could do whatever you want”.

I laugh because they are not wrong. The truth is, I am sure I would have a LOT more money if I didn’t have horses. Non-horse people would probably die to find out all the expenses that go into a horse...feed, hay, boarding costs, vet bills, farrier expenses...

And they are right when they say I would probably have a lot more free time if I didn’t have to spend it feeding horses, cleaning stalls, treating wounds and making sure that they are all well taken care of. I could afford a beautiful home in suburbia and not worry about the upkeep that is involved with acreage.

But I always say that God would never have ignited this HUGE passion for horses in my heart if I wasn’t meant to have them. And on days like today when my heart feels heavy, I go sit on my tailgate watching the sunset...just me and my horses...and here in the quiet…my heart and soul find peace…”

With all the controversy surrounding the β€œsoundness” and β€œx rays” at the pink buckle sale here’s your PSA to turn your horses out and let them be horses! Especially your young horses. They need to MOVE to develop strong structures. Nutrition is so important but you can’t β€œfeed” soundness into them. In fact over feeding can cause as much damage to development as underfeeding. Let those horses get out there and stress their bodies so they can adapt and have a more sound future πŸ™ŒπŸΌ.
