🐾 We’ll be at Barktober Fest! 🎃

We’re still celebrating the fact that Tim found his forever home, but there are plenty of other incredible dogs still waiting for theirs.

Come out to Barktober Fest and meet some of the adoptable dogs from HCACC. You might just meet the one that’s been waiting for you.

MLK9 Myrtle Beach will be there too with giveaways, dog training info, and a chance to come hang out with our team.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, this is a pretty good excuse to come meet some dogs. And even if you’re not ready to adopt, come support the shelter, grab some goodies, and help get these dogs seen.

🐶 One adoption changes a dog’s entire world. Let’s get a few more of them home.

🎉 TIM GOT ADOPTED!!! 🎉

After more than 500 days waiting for his person, Tim finally found his forever home ❤️

We had the privilege of working with Tim during his 4-week Board & Train, and getting to be even a small part of his story has meant a lot to us. He worked hard, made huge progress, and showed everyone exactly how much potential was hiding behind that shelter kennel door.

And honestly, Tim couldn’t have landed in a better situation. He’s going to a single dog home with two loving parents and plenty of land to run, play, explore and finally just enjoy being a dog!

This is why rescue work matters. Sometimes a dog doesn’t need to be “fixed.” They just need someone to give them the time, structure, training, and opportunity to show who they really are.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared Tim’s story, supported him, worked with him, and most importantly, the family who finally said, “he’s coming home with us.”

Tim, you waited long enough buddy!

Enjoy! You earned it. 🐾❤️

Quarterly employee evaluation is in… and he’s officially our golden employee 🏆🐶

Performance is strong, attitude is excellent, but the treat pouch theft investigation is still ongoing!

Aaron is still looking for his missing treat pouch, the suspect has declined to comment 🤣

Dad walked by… Koda’s nose knew immediately 😂

Still held the down though 🐾

Training doesn’t stop when we leave the facility.

Today we took a few of our dogs out to Home Depot and Market Commons to work around real-world distractions like people, carts, traffic, noises, and new environments.

Because obedience that only works in a quiet training room isn’t very useful.

Real-world obedience > perfect obedience in an empty room 🐾

Winston said “you wanted place? I’m already there.” 😂

3 weeks into his 6-week program and this Boykin is starting to make obedience look a little too easy.

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, service members, working dogs, and countless others who answered the call in the days that followed.

We will never forget the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown on that day.

From all of us at MLK9 Myrtle Beach, we remember.
