With kitten season well underway, here's a quick Q&A on how to help kittens and their mothers outdoors:

Q: Why not pick up young kittens from outdoors and bring them indoors?
A: Because their mother cat is likely nearby and she is providing the care they need!

Q: Why not bring the kittens AND their mother indoors?
A: A mother cat may become so stressed by being confined in the new environment that it impacts her health and her ability to care for her kittens. Mom has likely chosen an ideal space to raise her kittens in her outdoor home.

Q: How CAN you help a mother cat and kittens outdoors?
A: Provide mom with...
🐾 Regular food and water
🐾 An outdoor shelter
🐾 Peace and quiet. Keep an eye out, but don’t approach!

We sometimes hear how "cruel" eat tipping a cat is. However, one thing to remember is that ear tipping is done during anesthesia, just like any other surgery. This is a great video showing the importance of ear tipping a feral.

The main reason for spay/neuter is so little ones like Angel Bear don't suffer needlessly. He was brought into this world by a feral momma I'm guessing about two weeks ago. She moved the rest of her little ones and abandoned Angel Bear probably sensing something off with him. By the time humans were able to intervened it was too late. He passed early this morning. RIP sweet baby.
Please help PREVENT SUFFERING.
