🌞 Lowcountry Pet Tip

Summer pavement can become hot enough to burn your dog's paw pads—even when the air temperature doesn't feel extreme.

🐾 Try the 7-second test:
Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pet.

Morning and evening walks are safest during these warmer months in the South!

🐾 Meet Oliver – Looking for His Forever Home! 🐾

Oliver is a sweet, gentle 5-year-old neutered male Labrador Retriever mix who is looking for a family to call his own. Through absolutely no fault of his own, Oliver is in need of a new home where he can be loved and cherished for the wonderful dog he is.

Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital has placed Oliver in a foster home while he waits for his forever family. He's currently living with another dog and a cat and gets along well with both. His previous owner also shared that he does well with children, making him a wonderful companion for many different types of families.

Oliver is currently being treated for allergies, so he'll need a family committed to continuing his care and helping him stay comfortable and healthy. He's also carrying a few extra pounds, so he'd love someone who enjoys taking walks and can help him get the regular exercise he needs. We know with a little consistency and lots of love, Oliver will thrive!

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a kind heart, Oliver just might be the perfect match. He's simply looking for someone to love him, take him on adventures, and give him the forever home he deserves.

Happy Birthday to one of our favorite patients! Hope you enjoyed your day and were spoiled with all the cheese in the world, Pootie. 💙

Happy 5th birthday to Pootie! This little guy had the odds stacked against him from the very beginning. When Scott and Lauri Gangale adopted him four years ago, they were told he’d never have much quality of life and couldn’t use his back legs. But they decided to give him a chance anyway — and just look at the difference love and compassion can make!

Today, Pootie may still not have the use of his back legs, but he’s thriving in a home filled with joy and kindness. Thank you, Scott and Lauri, for showing us what true love looks like. And Pootie, you’re living proof that happiness doesn’t depend on perfection. You make us all smile!
