Juniper essential oil has long been a favorite in my wellness toolkit—especially for senior dogs and those with kidney concerns. 💧 (Ok I confess they are all my favorites)

I used it with Howie, who was given a age 12 was suggested that his kidney levels were elevated … he lived a joyful life to 20+. That wasn’t by accident. It was part of a very strategic senior dog protocol.

Juniper supports the body’s natural detoxification processes and helps maintain healthy urinary function—especially important as dogs age. I recommend it often in my kidney support plans.

Wondering if Juniper could be right for your dog? I’d love to help.

I just shared my summer detox recommendations with my clients and paid community members to support the kidneys. We also discuss why now -- when kidneys are considered a Water Element (TCVM) and Winter!

It's all about the cycles, maintaining balance and preparing for the upcoming seasons.

Here are a few fun foods for you to consider this summer!

Not to mention it's just for them and fun summer treats!

Fireworks season is coming… and no, waiting until your dog is already shaking in the bathtub is not the plan.

If your dog struggles with fireworks anxiety, start now:

Practice low-volume fireworks sounds
Build positive games with high-value rewards associated with sound.
Add exercise and mental enrichment earlier in the day
Use calming support hours before the panic starts and then boost closer to time.
Update ID tags and microchip info
Keep them in doors.
Leash for potty breaks, even in a fenced yard

Fireworks anxiety in dogs is much easier to support before the nervous system is already in meltdown mode.

Even if you've never had a problem before -- play it safe this year.
More dogs are lost on July 4th than any other time of the year.

It's flea and tick season again, which means my inbox is full of questions that should have been asked in March. 😅

A few reminders:

• Hartz products still concern me.
• Seresto collars aren't as risk-free as many people think.
• Puppies under 6 months deserve extra consideration.
• One flea on the dog rarely means one flea in the house.
• If you're already seeing fleas, it's time to act — not debate.
• Fresh food, garlic, gut health, and immune balance matter more than most people realize.
• No, garlic is not the villain the internet claims it is.
• Yes, there are natural options beyond "chemical everything" or "do nothing."

I also cover:

✔️ Essential oils
✔️ Kin + Kind and 4-Legger
✔️ Ultrasonic tags
✔️ Capstar for severe infestations
✔️ Dawn baths (when appropriate)
✔️ Epsom salt soaks, chamomile tea, and green tea for itchy skin
✔️ Beneficial nematodes, DE, Wondercide, and Cedarcide for the yard

Most importantly...

Reading about flea prevention doesn't prevent fleas.

Taking action does.

I put together a complete guide with my summer flea and tick strategy, what I avoid, what I use, and why I keep talking about nutrition when everyone else is talking about bugs.

Then come find me in Chat and tell me what you're using this summer.

You'll also find a lot of information and resources on my website about prevention, product options, what to do if you find a tick, and tickborne illness considerations.
