Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch HSLWR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill dog and cat shelter organization. Animals will stay with us as long as it takes to find them a new home. Walk in only.

HSLWR offers a safe environment and shelter for companion animal to whom we provide medical care, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and micro-chipping prior to their placement in permanent homes. Our Adoption Center hours are:
11:00 am - 4:00pm, Friday-Sunday. No appointments taken. Please visit our website to view adoptable animals. www.hslwr.org

Meet Jafar, the handsome 4 year old male Doberman seeking his forever home. This 77.5 pound beauty is looking for an experienced owner who can provide him with the life he so deserves! Jafar here is a loving pooch who is often called a "big baby" by the staff at our shelter. He is full of affection and thrives on human touch, always asking for head pats by sitting in front of you. Well-mannered and pretty laid-back, this fella is one splendid guy! Jafar is your typical Doberman and will need a home with someone who is experienced with the breed or similar large working breeds. He can be weary when meeting new people and is sensitive with certain handling, so an experienced home is a MUST, and we will not accept anyone non-experienced. Jafar is loyal to his humans and once he builds a bond, it sticks! He has not shown any interest in playing with toys yet and is more of a dog who enjoys walks, sniffing around the yard, frolicking through the grass, and receiving pets.
