Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch

Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch HSLWR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill dog and cat shelter organization. Animals will stay with us as long as it takes to find them a new home. Walk in only.

HSLWR offers a safe environment and shelter for companion animal to whom we provide medical care, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and micro-chipping prior to their placement in permanent homes. Our Adoption Center hours are:

Dottie and her husband have been long time supporters of HSLWR. So when her friend wanted a new pup she suggested our shelter and Dottie went along to help. Dottie had seen a picture of Taffy and thought she would take some time to meet her. Little did she know she would fall instantly in love! Taffy, so sweet and adorable won her over with all her circus tricks! Dottie reports she has settled right in like she has always lived there and respects their older who is blind.

As you can see by the pictures she is one lucky, happy dog!

Oh and her friend adopted a dog too!

Josie is one of the sweetest dogs, yet she has been overlooked during her time at the shelter. This beautiful 3 year old Dutch Shepherd/Mountain Cur mix is young, beautiful, and has so much love to give! Weighing in at 48 pounds, Josie is the perfect size...not too big, not too small. She is fun-sized, as the people say! Josie may bark at you initially in the kennel environment, however once she meets you in a non-stressful setting, her personality shines through! She's the perfect jogging partner, cuddle buddy, and playmate. Josie is ready to meet her match...could you be the one to give this big-hearted pup the forever home she deserves? ❤🐾

Meet Rajah and Shere Khan, named after two different famous Disney tigers, both known for being fierce! These 3 month old brothers are extremely affectionate, playful, and curious. Rajah and Shere Khan are the perfect pair to grow up side-by-side, bringing double the purrs, double the fun, and double the love for their lucky family!
