Do any of our supporters have the knowledge to create a flyer for us that has all 3 of our QR codes on it so we may add it to our binder? We would like to have an easy way for people to make a donation to us when we are out and about doing events.

How cute are these??? We are going to give these hand bands out at the parade tomorrow evening! A special thanks to Tara from Bama Wags Pet Care for ordering them for us.

We also have 4 bags of candy to throw out. Hopefully, that will be enough. It has been a few decades since some of us have been in a parade so we really have no idea how much candy will be enough 😂

We want to see you all tomorrow night! Be sure to come out and enjoy the parade!

Hi Friends,

An update on the vet bill ....

First, thank you to everyone who bought tickets for our raffle bag. We sold all 100 spots available. The sale of the raffle raised $500. Unfortunately, our vet bill was substantial it the $500 raised did not make much of a dent in it.

As of tonight, we currently have a balance of $978.00. Our vet has notified us that they are unable to see anymore of our babies until this bill is paid in full. While we were hoping we could use just one vet for everything, that is not plausible so we will continue our search for another vet in the area that we can also work with.

Further, our vet has asked us to keep our bills at $500 or less going forward. Any procedure over $500 will require money to be put down first before the procedure. The amount of money needed up front is determined by how much the procedure costs.

I have attached the vet invoices as well as the estimate for the amputation of Raymond Purr's leg. The high side of the estimate for the amputation is $1,000. $500 or more will be due the day of surgery with payments allowed to be made on the remaining $500.

The current balance and the estimate for the amputation does not include what it will cost if Chess has to have his eye removed.

Due to the significant balance and the need to get it paid off, we are going to set up our next raffle ASAP!! I cannot wait to fill you in on what we have for you! You will love it! 😃

Of course, the sooner we get the vet paid, the better. We would like to have it paid in full soon so that we may schedule Raymond Purr's surgery. He is not experiencing any issues with it now and we would like to keep it that way.

Hi Friends,

We did it! With the help of our amazing village, all 100 tickets of our raffle have been sold. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket. We will be going live tomorrow evening for the drawing.

I will be posting another post shortly updating everyone on our vet bill as it stands now. The money we raised with this raffle will help make a dent in the bill but it will not pay it in full which must be done before we can schedule anymore appointments.

We already have what our next raffle will be. Would anyone like a sneak peak?

Hi Friends,

Please help us welcome this gorgeous girl to the rescue. Meet El, a 4 year old beauty that is an owner surrender. While we don't usually take owner surrenders, El's owner is one of our supporters who reached out to us. Due to life circumstances that cannot be avoided, she has to find El a new home.

This gorgeous girl is up to date on her vaccines and already spayed. She is litterbox trained and grew up in a home with multiple cats. She is breathtaking in person.

Helen Keller Parade

We would like to invite everyone to come out to Downtown Tuscumbia on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 6pm to kick off the annual Helen Keller Festival with the Helen Keller Parade! We are appearing in the parade for the first time in the history of the rescue and we are super excited!

We will have candy to throw out and cute headbands while supplies last to give out to the girls lining the parade route.

Lineup for the parade begins at 5pm at Deshler High School on Commons St. We will turn left on Main St. until we reach 6th St. At 6th St., we will turn right on Water St., followed by right onto Commons St.

The parade begins at 6pm. We cannot wait to see everyone there. Be sure to wave at us 😃
