🌟 September Employee of the Month: Nicole McLane! 🌟

Please help us celebrate Nicole McLane, our September Employee of the Month! 🎉

Nicole stepped into our night tech role coming from a small animal background, and she has jumped into the world of equine medicine with an eagerness to learn that has been so fun to watch. She takes the time to figure things out, listens when you teach, and truly absorbs what she’s learning.

But beyond all of that, Nicole walks through the door with a smile, jumps right into conversations, and is just genuinely a good human. I’m very thankful that we had the opportunity to add her to our team.

⚡️ Temporary Power Outage at Allegheny Equine⚡

Our clinic is currently without power, and unfortunately, we do not yet have an estimated restoration time.

⭐⭐We are still OPEN and providing care! Scheduled appointments and emergency calls will continue as planned.⭐⭐

🚩🚩Until our power is restored, we will be operating without our front office, so things may look a little different than usual. If you need to reach us, call our main number at 724-325-4615 and you will speak with our answering service. They can take your message and relay it directly to the on-call veterinarian.🚩🚩

🎉 The most exciting news!

Today is Dr. Nydimar “Mimi” Rivera-González’s first official day with Allegheny Equine! We’re so excited to welcome Dr. Mimi to the team. Over the next few weeks, you’ll see her working alongside our current veterinarians as she gets to know our clinic, clients, and patients.

A little introduction for Dr. Mimi:

Dr. Nydimar Rivera-González was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She rode in both jumpers and Paso Fino classes. She completed her bachelor degree at the Universidad Interamericana Recinto Metro, graduating in 2018. After, that she worked at a small animal clinic for two years. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University, obtaining her DVM degree in 2024. Soon after, completed a 1 year Equine Ambulatory Internship at Genesee Valley Equine Clinic near Rochester NY. She loves to travel and spending time with her two dogs, Umbra and Voodoo; and her partner Jay.

Welcome Back, Dr. Salomon! 🐴❤️
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Salomon back from her incredible journey out West!

For the second consecutive year, Dr. Salomon proudly partnered with a dedicated team from the Equitarian Initiative to provide essential veterinary care on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Working alongside 11 veterinarians, 15 veterinary students, 5 scribes, and several community handlers, the team made a monumental impact, providing vital services for these incredible animals:
*Wellness exams for over 400 horses
*78 geldings performed
*35 routine dentals completed

Horses are a vital, integral, and deeply cherished part of the Oglala community, and we are so proud of Dr. Salomon for sharing her time, expertise, and passion to support them.

Equitarian Initiative provides essential veterinary care for working horses,mules and donkeys and education for their handlers. They have projects in several Central American countries as well as in the United States.

Time and time again, clients have gone out of their way to share how kind, patient, and compassionate she was while helping them through an emergency.
