💚 Happy 🐴Vet Tech Week! 💚

This week is all about celebrating our amazing tech team and recognizing everything they do for our horses, clients, and each other.

From the long days and late nights to the emergencies, the extra hours, and everything that happens behind the scenes, you all show up and give so much of yourselves to this team. You jump in to help each other, step up when things get busy, and put so much care into the horses who depend on us.

I'm incredibly proud of this group and grateful for the different strengths each of you bring to Allegheny Equine. Our days wouldn't run the same without you, and the care we provide wouldn't be what it is without your hard work and dedication.

Thank you for everything you do this week and all year long. You deserve to be celebrated! 👏

🌟 It’s a gorgeous (but chilly) morning for our Annual Vet Student Wet lab! Organized by our Student coordinator Dr Brown and side kick ❤️. Our veterinarians are spending their free times this morning teaching students about ultrasound, dentistry and lameness. 🐎

We were busy taking our annual staff photos and needed a little extra time for everyone to participate! Of course, we had to make it fun this year! 🐧

🚨 Emergencies have a way of happening at the worst possible time or in the least familiar places (or both).

On Friday, our doctors were called to help Ty Evans and his mule, Poppy, who found herself in a situation that definitely wasn’t on the weekend itinerary. They were traveling in Pennsylvania for a clinic when Poppy decided to make the weekend a little more memorable.

When an emergency happens while you’re away from home, knowing who to call can make all the difference. Poppy was only one call away from getting the care she needed.

Drs. Alexis and Michael spent the morning evaluating Poppy, determining the severity of her lacerations and working through the best plan for repair.

Poppy is doing well, and we’re glad we could be there when she needed us!

🌟 October Employee of the Month: Dr. Michael Stadler! 🌟

Please help us celebrate Dr. Michael Stadler, our October Employee of the Month! 🎉

Dr. Michael has been a great addition to the AE team. He consistently goes above and beyond to help, whether that means coming in early to support the hospital team, lending a hand when he's not on hospital duty, or answering a call when someone needs help figuring something out. His willingness to show up for the team does not go unnoticed!

Beyond his work ethic, he brings a calm, grounding presence to the team and has quickly become someone we can count on. We're lucky to have him at AE and are excited to see him continue to grow!

Thank you for all you do, Dr. Michael! 💙👏

Last week technicians Paige, Nancy, and Felicity traveled to Days End Farm Horse Rescue to attend an educational event put on by Boehringer Ingelheim.

In the morning they sat through lectures on
🧠PPID
💉 Vaccines
🦠🧼 Sterilization and upkeep of equine surgical instruments

Then in the afternoon they got to participate in Wet-Labs
🩸💉 Blood draws and sample handling, alongside IV injections
🐴 Placement of Nasal gastric tubes and passing and using gastroscopes
🏇hands on lower limb dissection

They were sent home with a new wealth of knowledge and get to share a presentation in our all staff meeting!
