A little recap from my week with these sweet babies! 🥰

I got to spend a long weekend with these three cuties while their family was away, and we settled into our little routine pretty quickly.

We had LOTS of outside time with the pretty weather, playtime in the yard, meals right on schedule, plenty of lounging around the house, and of course all the attention and snuggles they wanted. The little ones kept me entertained while their older sibling was perfectly content enjoying the slower life. 😂

This is one of the reasons I love offering house sitting! Instead of having to pack everyone up and send them somewhere unfamiliar, they get to stay right at home where they’re comfortable while I work around their normal routine.
Feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, bedtime routines, medications, favorite sleeping spots — whatever they’re used to, I try to keep things feeling as normal as possible while their family is gone… even if they need tucked in at night 🤎

After five days together, saying goodbye was definitely bittersweet. 🥹 Thank you so much to their family for trusting me with all three of their babies!

A little last-minute neighbor visit 🐾

One of my favorite things about this job is never quite knowing who I’ll get to spend my day with! While I was housesitting nearby, I got a last-minute request to pop over and spend some time with this sweet boy who just happened to be right next door. 🥹

We made the most of our visit with some outside time, plenty of exploring, LOTS of tug-of-war and of course some love and attention before I headed back over to my housesitting pups.

Drop-ins are perfect for the days you’ll be gone a little longer than usual but your pup doesn’t necessarily need a full day of care. Whether they need a potty break, some playtime, a walk, their meal, or simply someone to hang out with for a bit, I’m happy to make their visit fit what they need. 🤎🐕

Safe to say this handsome guy made my last-minute addition to the day a pretty fun one. 🥰

Drop-ins aren’t just food, water & litter boxes around here! I always try to spend the rest of our visit doing whatever they enjoy — whether that’s playing, getting some love, or just having someone hang out with them for a little while.

These babies definitely make sure I get my kitty fix during their visits 🥹

Cat drop-ins are perfect for kitties who are happiest staying in their own space while you’re away!

Meet the Regulars! — Ryder 🤎

If there was an award for taking daycare at your own pace, Ryder would probably win it.

Ryder is 10 years old and definitely isn’t the guy who shows up thinking he needs to be involved in every game. He’s perfectly happy wandering around the yard, soaking up some sun, observing what everyone else is doing, and joining in when he feels like it.

Personality: laid-back, sweet & independent
After-work plans: probably more relaxing.. daycare is exhausting when you spend all day supervising everyone else’s nonsense 😂

One of my favorite things has been watching Ryder get more comfortable and confident with every visit. He’s proof that you don’t have to be the wildest one in the group to enjoy your daycare days. 🐕🎾

October plans? Don’t forget about the dogs! 🐶

When your pup stays with me, I want their time here to feel less like being “boarded” and more like they came over for a little vacation of their own. 🤎

They become part of the household while they’re here — which means their days are filled with all the normal, cozy things my own dogs get to enjoy too.

• Lots of exploring & backyard time
• Playing with friends
• Treat breaks (with permission)
• Couch naps
• Plenty of 1 on 1 love & attention
• Pics for mom & dad
• Cozy nights with their normal routine
• Mental enrichment (pupsicles, scavenger hunts, sniff games)

There’s no “one schedule fits every dog” here either. Some pups want to spend their whole day wrestling and running around, while others would much rather follow me around, sunbathe, or curl up and relax. I love getting to know each pup and accommodating their individual routine so they can feel as comfortable and at home here as possible! 🥰

If you have a fall trip coming up, now is a great time to reserve your pup’s stay. New pups will have a free meet & greet beforehand so I can get to know them and make sure Bark & Board is a good fit for them. 🐾

It’s always the little things. 🤎

One of my favorite parts about caring for the same dogs over time is learning all the little things that make each of them them.

I learn who runs straight for the back door because playtime cannot possibly start fast enough. 😂 Who would rather find a sunny spot and watch everyone else. Who needs a little extra time before they’re ready to join in. Who follows me from room to room. Who has a favorite place to nap. Who somehow ALWAYS knows when treats are involved.

Some want to wrestle and play chase all day, while others are perfectly content exploring the yard, soaking up some sun, or curling up somewhere comfortable.

And honestly, that’s one of the things I love most about what I do. 🥹🤎

Every dog has their own personality, routine, likes, dislikes & ways of telling me what they need. The more time I spend with them, the more of those little things I get to learn.

Because good care isn’t about expecting every dog to enjoy their day the same way — it’s about getting to know your dog and what makes them feel happy, safe & comfortable while they’re with me. 🤎🐶

Meet the regulars! — Dexter 🐶🤎

If you’ve followed Bark & Board for a while, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen this face before.

Dexter is one of my regular daycare pups that I’ve watched grow from a puppy to a handsome adult. He has spent 6/7 days of his week with me for an entire year now! He has basically grown up making friends here, and he is ALWAYS ready when someone wants to play.

Cooler days are right around the corner, which means more time outside, lots of playtime & plenty of happy pups. 🤎🍂

Fall is also one of my favorite times of year for Bark & Board! If you have a fall trip, weekend getaway, or holiday plans coming up, now is a great time to get your pup’s stay on my calendar.

I’m currently booking boarding & house sitting for fall, with availability becoming more limited as we get closer to the holidays! 🎃🎁

Plenty of playtime, lots of attention, new friends & apparently some VERY necessary post-play naps included. (last picture) 😂💤

A little Bark & Board lately 🐾💛

I’ve been a little quiet on here, but things definitely haven’t been quiet behind the scenes..😆

We’ve had lots of backyard zoomies, new friendships, VERY serious games of chase, stick collecting, and of course plenty of love in between.

I may be a little guilty of taking 500 pictures of everyone’s dogs and then forgetting I’m supposed to actually post them… so here’s a little peek at what we’ve been up to lately. 🎾

I love getting to see all of their different personalities come out while they’re here — whether they’re here to make every dog their new best friend, supervise from the sidelines, or simply find the biggest stick in the yard. 😂
