McPherson Veterinary Services

McPherson Veterinary Services We are a small animal hospital that emphasizes gentle restraint for our patients and a minimum of medications and vaccinations. We'd love to meet you!

McPherson Veterinary Services is a full-service animal clinic that has been serving the health needs of companion pets in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and the surrounding areas since 2007. Of course your pet will always be well taken care of, but we try hard not to overmedicate and overvaccinate. We use 2 and 3 year shots as often as possible and we don't use all of our vaccines for each patient, only

the vaccines that are necessary to keep them healthy. We are a small clinic so you'll only see one doctor and you'll get used to seeing the same people everytime you come in, and your pets will too! We are experienced in medicine, surgery, dentistry, wellness medicine and chemotherapy. However, we also know our limitations, and if your pet needs to see a veterinary specialist we have a great relationship with all of them and will be happy to refer you! If you have any other questions, please call us or come by to visit.

A cat’s nose print is completely unique, much like a human fingerprint. The tiny ridges and patterns on their nose create a one-of-a-kind identifier.

Changes in the appearance or texture of the nose can sometimes reflect hydration or overall health, so it’s always worth paying attention to what’s normal for your cat. Noticing changes? Call us: (615) 896-9524

A dog’s reaction to guests can tell us a lot about their comfort level and behavior. Reactions like barking, hiding, or guarding can be linked to anxiety, lack of socialization, or protective instincts. Understanding those signals can help prevent stress and create safer interactions for everyone.

Honestly… they might be onto something 😌 Whether it’s saying no to chaos, no to sharing boxes, or no to anything that doesn’t pass their vibe check, cats set boundaries and stick to them.

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes, most often on their front paws. It’s a genetic trait and is usually completely harmless, just an extra dose of cute. That said, those extra toes can come with a few care considerations. More toes means more nails to trim, and sometimes they grow at different angles or are easier to snag if not maintained. Most polydactyl cats live totally normal, healthy lives, but regular paw checks and nail trims are important to keep them comfortable.
