Today was wing trimming day. Chickens were flying higher than they should be, and we didn’t need them going over to visit the neighbors. One wing gets trimmed each year to put them off balance when they fly. This way they don’t gain any lift. It does not hurt them as it’s just like cutting our hair.

One of my hens laid a massive egg, nearly the size of of a duck egg. Just opened it and it’s my 1st double yolk in 3 years. Both are about a large sized egg.

The flock of chickens is producing eggs at a great rate with the onset of warmer weather.

Our youngsters from last year have started laying eggs this year. Our two roosters born at Fluffy Butts were given away as they were brothers and always fighting, tearing up the girls, biting the girls and us.
The current price is $3.50 per dozen
