Probably one of my favorite reefs through time. She was easy aka bulletproof and beautiful. Colors, just 3 but that was enough. Texture, what a party, tons. Over-all it was about how it flowed as an artistic work visually and how the life moved physically. I'd call that kinetic-cohesion.

It truly "flowed" like water, the path of least resistance visually and physically.

A pictorial of most of the species and types I utilize as "mediums" minus a few slow growers.

All are aimed at renaissance reefer-types anchored in terms like: bulletproof and beautiful and intelligent by design. Some aspects include: complimentary and contrast colors, texture variation and colony independence should the artistic-reefer have the whim to redesign their scape, living Legos.

Clownfish as a group:

Start small, all of similar size. One becomes the matriarch.

The rest (males) will develop a pecking order and there will be a "whipping horse" at the bottom...but ultimately they all are as the female will make her rounds and abuse them into submission accordingly.

We can minimize his and other higher-ranking submissive abuse by providing plenty of fight or flight space. The primary male, he and the low man on the totem are going to take the most s**t.

If you pay high attention to detail, have high sensitivity and tend to be anthropomorphic with your captives, I'd suggest a pair, one larger, one smaller. Two too close in size will brawl for an extended period of time. The winner gets ovaries. 😆

Adding others after the order is established, I do not advise.

Will's 150 SW; He opted to have it "Reef-Wrecked". Sweet.

Major considerations for coral types introduced: durability, service schedule, tank depth and lighting capability.

The tank is custom, 36" tall. He prefers the shimmer of Kessil 360x's, they're suspended 6" from the water's surface. His service schedule, every other week.

Photosynthetically (PAR), his light will "healthily" support soft and durable long poly stony (LPS) corals at a maximum depth of 24".

Durability and "actual" light pe*******on in mind only soft coral were introduced. Coral were placed as far as lighting max depth allows w/ an attempt at compensating for light suspension height.

Thursday marks week two of coral introductions. What I find will dictate what changes I need to make if any for the coral and its placement. I'll let you know how things look.

One of my tenets: large or small, the effort is a "work" worthy of appreciation with built in facets to include phrases like: "bullet-proof and beautiful, less is more and pocket friendly" to name just a few.

Beauty doesn't have to be complex, it just has to have a vision inspired by love that drives it.

I'm a combination learner: hear, see and do.

The reef, it's taught me a lot.

The education in this example: fluid-dynamics. Diluted down, water just like air is elastic, has bounce/flex. Density being the difference. Think bouncing a super-ball off of multiple walls.
