As record-breaking temperatures continue across the country, it's important to remember that dogs can develop heatstroke much faster than many people realize. A little extra awareness and good choices can save a life.

In addition to your own, please also keep an eye out for dogs in your area that may be in distress from the heat. Especially animals without shelter and any dog left in unsafe conditions.

👮‍♀️If you're concerned about a dog's welfare and don't feel comfortable approaching the owner, contact your local animal control or law enforcement so they can check on the situation.
