Many Teams. One Dream. 🤝🐾

We are SO excited to see this new chapter of mutual aid and collaboration beginning!

Search & Rescue is bigger than any one team. It takes people willing to show up, share knowledge, lend a hand, and answer the call. We are incredibly thankful to see the camaraderie between SAR teams continuing to grow. ❤️

Different teams. Different dogs. Different specialties. Different logos on our shirts.

But when the call comes, we’re all working toward the same thing: bringing people home.

We’re proud to be part of a community that recognizes that we are stronger together, and we’re excited for all that this growing partnership can bring to SAR across Kentucky.

Huge thank you to Hardin County Search and Rescue for hosting such a wonderful day of building connections and training!

🐾 WHAT A TRAINING DAY! 🐾

This past Saturday, CSI KY had the incredible opportunity to train at Kentucky Down Under, and what a unique experience it was! 🔎🐕‍🦺

A HUGE thank you to the Kentucky Down Under team for welcoming us to work in such an awesome environment! From training around the animals 🦘🐐 to working through the cave, our K9s got to experience sights, sounds, smells, and challenges that are very different from our normal training environments.

And THAT is exactly why we train! 💪

Search & Rescue doesn't always happen in a nice, familiar field. Our teams have to be ready to work anywhere, anytime, and in all kinds of environments. Training somewhere new helps build confidence, adaptability, and problem solving skills that could make all the difference on a real search.

⭐ And we have to give a special shoutout to our two junior participants! ⭐
They came out to learn more about K9 Search & Rescue and absolutely CRUSHED IT! They jumped right in, asked questions, worked hard, and were eager to learn. We LOVE seeing the next generation take an interest in SAR! 🐾❤️
Who knows…we may have a couple future handlers on our hands! 👀🐕‍🦺

Train hard. Stay ready. Be prepared.
Because when the call comes, there is no practice run. 🐾🔎

CSI KY stands with our Eastern Kentucky search and rescue partners in supporting Senate Bill 47- the in-the-line-of-duty death benefit bill.

Every time rescue teams go out, they put their lives on the line to save others. Right now, if something were to happen to a rescue team member in the line of duty, their family could receive little to no state support. Senate Bill 47 would correct that by extending the same death benefits currently provided to other first responders to include paid and volunteer search and rescue personnel.

We appreciate lawmakers who recognize this overdue need and urge the Kentucky General Assembly to pass this bill, because every life saved should be honored, and every sacrifice should be supported.

🐾 K9 Alice 🐾
End of Watch
July 3, 2014 - February 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of K9 Alice.

Alice served with dedication, grit, and heart as a Search and Rescue K9. Throughout her career, she deployed alongside her handler, Celia, answering the call to search for the missing and bring answers to families in need. She trained hard, worked with intensity, and exemplified the determination and drive that define a true SAR K9.

Alice was more than a working dog. She was a teammate. A partner. A protector. A steady presence on training days and deployments. Known for her intelligence, sass, and sweet nature, she left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege to work beside her.

We extend our deepest condolences to Alice’s family and of course, Celia, who walked every mile of this journey with unwavering devotion and love. The bond between a handler and K9 partner is profound, and we honor the years of commitment, sacrifice, and service they gave together.

K9 Alice’s watch has ended, but her impact on this team and the families she served will not be forgotten.

Rest easy, Alice.
We’ll take it from here.
