Gracie's first hook as a team! We couldn't be prouder of her! She's still here for a couple more weeks to get some fine tuning, but we see great things in her future!

So happy with this mare. She's taking this whole ranch/western dressage thing in stride and ROCKING it!

Lesson Horse appreciation post (4/5).

Name: Roach
Registered name: Pardon My One Sock
Breed: Quarter Horse
Color: Liver Chestnut
Age: 16
Favorite treat: Carrots and apples
Favorite brush: the soft brush and scratches on her neck
Fun fact: Roach is very opinionated. She hates going fast and is pretty sure she should be inside whenever she wants!

Roach is our newest lesson horse. Her main job is teaching beginners how to steer, stop and have a good sense of humor! Her life wasn't the easiest before coming to us, she was severely underweight and you may notice at some point she lost her tail, and has a huge scar on her rear from an improper branding. Even through all that she's calming down and realizing she's in a safe space and loved dearly by the kiddos she teaches!

Gracie's first hook to the cart! This little lady is coming along quite nicely! I suspect after a few days of getting used to the cart we'll be driving all around! If our cart looks oddly positioned that's for a reason! Our first few hooks to the carriage we do what we call a "false hook" this means everything attaching the horse to the carriage is attached in such a way that should they panic and bolt the carriage will slide out of the holsters and come off the horse
