What an incredible time at the Colonial Classic Regional Show!
Our kids worked hard all year to qualify for this tough competition, going up against some of the top riders across the tri-state area — and they performed amazingly.
For the 4th year in a row, we had the privilege of competing at the historic Prince George Equestrian Center. Another year for the books!
We were blessed to bring 10 horses and 10 riders who competed across more than 18 divisions. With some classes packing over 30 riders, it was truly special to see everyone walk away with ribbons, memories, and new goals for the year ahead.
So proud of our team — the supportive parents, hard-working kids, and dedicated trainers who made these four days of fun possible.
There’s always room on our show team for any riders who want to join us. Looking forward to an even bigger year next year!

Copycat (aka Monkey See Monkey Do) — one of our very first lesson horses — competing at the NJ 4-H State Qualifying Show… over 10 years apart!

Back in the day, he was ridden by Redwood Farms owner and head trainer Haley. Today, at 22, this moody old man is still out there teaching students and helping them reach new goals.

Owned by Brenda Holtzapfel, Copycat has become (and will always remain) a true staple pony at our farm. We love this special guy and hope he continues to inspire the next generation of riders for many years to come.

Here’s to the horses who quietly shape so many young riders’ journeys. ❤️🐴

Meet the Members Monday: Erin & Karl!🐴🔥

We’re continuing our Meet the Members Monday with Erin and her boy Karl!

Erin joined our crew only recently, but she has completely transformed in the short time she’s been with us. Together, she and Karl dove headfirst into the western world of rodeo — learning, training, and competing in a totally new discipline… and absolutely crushing it!

The work and dedication Erin puts into her craft is incredible. She’s committed not only to Karl, but to Redwood Farms as a whole — putting in countless hours helping around the farm, teaching new students, and of course, loving on her boy.

Keep an eye out for Karl and Erin at future games and shows… they’re coming in hot 🔥 doing what they love!

Meet the Members: Sophia! 🐴❤️

Sophia has been part of the Redwood family for over 6 years! She started with us in summer camps and has grown into an active 4-H member, dedicated helper, and show student.

While she doesn’t stick to just one horse, Sophia has room in her heart for ALL of them. She may not have a lot to say, but she is an incredible listener and truly understands the animals — which is exactly why she’s such a natural with every one of them.

We’re so proud to have watched her build, grow, and watch her confidence skyrocket over the years. Sophia meets every fall, every mistake, and every challenge head-on, and each one has made her bigger and braver.

We love you, Sophia! 🌟

What an amazing weekend! Even though the plans got switched up last minute, we still made it one to remember.

Huge shout-out to Diamond K Performance Athletes for having us over to play! Our kids got their first taste of rodeo practice — poles and barrels off property. It was hot in the morning and raining in the afternoon, but these kids had an absolute BLAST. It was honestly hard to get them to leave!

A few of our kids even got their first shot at bull riding (don’t worry, we stuck with the tame bull 😉). After all that fun, we got to see the REAL cowboys at the Cowtown Rodeo!

It’s days like this that bring everyone together and remind the kids (and the adults) that it’s for the fun of the sport first… the ribbons come later. ❤️
