You don’t have to live with “reactivity”! It’s an easy fix!

Here’s a 7 1/2 year old rescue dog who literally did backflips trying to get to other dogs, even with gentle leader (a go to of “force free” trainers).

I under an hour, it was over and she could start successfully socializing with other dogs.

That’s my Boone on her left and some strange dogs less than 100 feet away.

Reactivity on the run in a single session, but it gets better.

Her owners chose to train with me after interviewing others, because I didn’t beat around the bush or try to turn them into “ideal owners”. I also offered them a very competitive price because we won’t need 20 sessions.

They have one or two major problems, reactivity and reliable recall topping that list.

Just so happens we can work on both things at once, go directly at the issue and make lightning fast progress!

Trainers love to overcomplicate things. Here's a simple set of facts no one can deny...
Dogs learn one rule: do this, get that. Something happens after every action. If it feels good, your dog does it again. If it feels bad, they won't.
Adding something good makes a behavior happen more. Your dog sits, you give a treat. The treat feels good, so they sit again.
Adding something bad makes a behavior happen less. Your dog lunges toward a squirrel, and you give a quick tug on the leash. That feels uncomfortable, so they stop lunging.
Both work off the same rule, but timing has to be fast, or your dog can't connect what they did with what happened.
We use "Good boy" and "No" to signal which one is coming. This helps with the timing issues. "Good boy" said the instant your dog gets it right is a promise: good stuff is on the way. "No" said the instant they mess up is a warning: something you won't like is coming.
Same action, same result, every time — that's what makes it stick. Dogs aren't guessing. They're learning, one try at a time. It's that simple. So let it be simple!

A veterinarian told me she didn't have time to train her own dog. Here's what we did about it.
Dr. Tracey Milden runs Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital. She spends her whole day caring for animals. But when it came to her own puppy, Drax, she felt stuck. She wanted him trained right, but she didn't think she had the time.
In this video, we walk through the before and after.
Before: Tracey was overwhelmed. She loved Drax but worried training would take too much time out of her already full days.
After: once she saw that training fits into normal daily life instead of long separate sessions, everything changed. She got consistent, and Drax responded.
Today, Drax is a real member of the family. He's part of everything they do.
One of the best parts of this story? Drax's behavior at the vet hospital. He's around other dogs and pets constantly, and he stays calm and well-behaved. That's a real test of training, not just a trick at home.
