Mesotherapy - what is it, how does it work, when to use it?
From our own
Mesotherapy is a combo of anti-inflammatory & nerve calming medications that are injected using tiny needles into the mesoderm (skin layer).
Mesotherapy is most commonly used to treat back or neck muscle pain.
Little bumps, similar to hives, are left after injection over the treatment area, but are gone within a few hours.
This treatment works because we are interacting with the nerves that are causing pain from a different route, creating a ‘nerve reset’ to break the pain cycle in horses with chronic neck and back pain.
Depending on the clinical diagnosis, other therapies can be performed.
Once the horse is more comfortable, we can work on building proper muscle tone to avoid future injury.🐴
