10 yrs ago I quit my job of 33 yrs as a vet assistant/tech/receptionist, and 8 yrs ago I took a huge risk at starting my own grooming business. Wow! Never in my dreams did I think my little home based grooming business would take off, but it sure did!
I am so thankful for all of my loyal clients and their dogs that I love as my own! I haven't been able to take on any new dogs for a couple of years. Now, Sadly, I've been grooming just long enough that a lot of my original dogs are now getting old and passing away. I keep getting calls and texts telling me of their passing. I have had 24 of my grooming dogs pass away in the last year, and many more that are fighting the inevitable. This breaks my heart as I have formed a relationship with the dogs and their owners! So at this point I will be taking some new grooming dogs. Bring on the puppies!! I LOVE puppies! But please no dogs over 100 # as I'm getting old and this job is a body killer!

Most groomers dread the thought of starting a new puppy for their 1st grooming, for good reasons!
They aren't trained, don't stand still are usually scared, wiggly and uncooperative in every way!! I love training puppies for their 1st grooming experience, because I just love puppies! Yes it takes alot of patience, love, consistency and rewarding good behavior. But It is so worth it, a blank slate that I can mold into a dog that will be a great dog to groom in a very short time.
This little mini Bernadoodle "Huey" is one of the cutest puppies I've ever groomed and such a joy! His tail never stopped wagging, my face was slobbered in kisses, such a sweet baby! But he wouldn't stand still, wouldn't stand up, and didn't know what i wanted. 45 min. Into grooming he knew what i wanted and was enjoying the attention of grooming. But, I still renamed him "Mr. Wiggles!"

I can't believe that these 2 stunningly beautiful Sheltie babies are still looking for their forever couch! They are 12 wk old bi- blue merles, perfect in every way, except they will be too big for the show ring, one male & one female.
