Please consider helping fur families in need…

Times are hard right now. Gas is over $4 in some places, groceries keep climbing, and even cans of cat food that used to be $.50 are now close to $1 each. It adds up fast.

We want you to know you are not alone. Our Pet Food Pantry is here to help families keep their pets fed and at home during tough times.

We cannot guarantee specific brands, but we will share what we have. Assistance is available once per month while supplies last. We are always taking donations for both our furry friends and our pet pantry so if its a brand we can't use, it goes right back to the community.

Sometimes people just need a little help getting through, and that is okay.
We are here❤️

A major shift in animal welfare is taking shape in Canada, as Ontario moves toward banning non-medical cosmetic procedures on pets. Practices like declawing cats and cropping ears or docking tails in dogs could soon be restricted unless they are deemed medically necessary, signaling a stronger focus on the well-being of animals over appearance.

Supporters see this as long-overdue progress, pointing out that these procedures can cause pain, stress, and long-term complications without offering real benefits to the animal. Others are now weighing how the change could impact traditions, veterinary practices, and expectations around certain breeds, but the broader conversation is clearly evolving.

Eggs may be one of the most underused foods in your dog’s diet.

Not because they are hard to find.
Not because they lack value.
But because most people do not fully understand how to use them.

Eggs are not just a nice extra.
They are one of the most complete whole foods you can feed a dog.

🥚 The yolk provides:

choline
vitamins A, D, E, and K
essential fatty acids
trace minerals like selenium

🥚 The white provides:

highly digestible complete protein
essential amino acids for muscle, tissue repair, and body function

One of the biggest concerns people bring up is avidin in raw egg whites, which can bind biotin.

But context matters.

This is mainly a concern when raw whites are fed alone or in excess over time.
When the whole egg is fed, the yolk naturally contains biotin that helps balance that issue.

So this is not really a raw versus cooked debate.
It is more about how eggs are used.

Raw eggs

can be fed when using the whole egg
maintain natural protein structure

Cooked eggs

remove the avidin concern
may improve digestibility for some dogs

Both can be useful.

Where people often go wrong:

feeding only whites
using eggs randomly instead of intentionally
ignoring their fat and protein contribution
treating them like a topper instead of a meaningful food

Eggs are not filler.
They are a valuable nutritional tool when used correctly.
