🌾 Cheat Grass Season is Here! 🌾

As the weather warms up, we’re starting to see more pets affected by cheat grass (foxtails) — and these little grass awns can cause BIG problems.

Cheat grass seeds are sharp and barbed, allowing them to burrow into:
• Ears
• Eyes
• Noses
• Paws
• Skin
• Even deeper into the body if left untreated

⚠️ Signs to watch for:
🐾 Excessive licking or chewing at paws
👂 Head shaking or pawing at ears
👃 Sneezing or nasal discharge
👁 Squinting, redness, or eye discharge
🩹 Swelling, redness, or draining tracts in the skin
😣 Sudden pain or limping after being outdoors

After hikes, walks, or time in tall dry grass:
✔️ Check between toes
✔️ Inspect ears and eyes
✔️ Brush through fur thoroughly
✔️ Remove any visible awns immediately

The sooner cheat grass is found, the easier (and less painful) treatment usually is. If your pet is showing any of these signs, give us a call so we can help before it becomes a bigger issue.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Knight Veterinary Clinic! 🐾

Today we want to give a special shoutout to the incredible moms on our team. Between caring for patients, supporting clients, managing busy schedules, and then going home to care for their own families, these women do it all with compassion, strength, and heart every single day.

We are so grateful for the hardworking mothers who help make our clinic feel like family, and for all the moms out there who love and care for both their people and pets so deeply.

Join us in wishing all the amazing moms a very Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️

May is Canine Cancer Awareness Month at Knight Vet Clinic

Did you know… 1 in 4 dogs in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?

That’s why early detection matters more than ever.

At Knight Vet Clinic, we’re excited to offer a new, advanced cancer screening test that can help detect certain cancers months before symptoms even appear.

🐾 What this means for your pet:
• Detect lymphoma 6–8 months earlier than traditional methods
• Simple blood test — quick and non-invasive
• Clear, actionable results
• Expert-guided next steps if needed

✨ Why early screening matters:
Catching cancer early can mean more treatment options, better outcomes, and more quality time with your pet.

🐶 We recommend screening for:
• Dogs 7 years and older
• Dogs 4+ years old in higher-risk breeds (Labs, Goldens, Boxers, Bulldogs, German Shepherds, and more)

May Special:
Enjoy 10% OFF cancer screening when added to your pet’s wellness testing this month! 🎉l

Because before you can fight cancer…
👉 you have to find it.

📞 Call us or message us to learn more or schedule your pet’s screening!
