Today we officially handed over the keys and closed the chapter on the original DogMom Grooming shop.
And yes... I cried.
I cried for the memories that were made within those walls. I cried thinking about where I was in life when I decided to take the leap and open my own business. At the time, I was feeling defeated, overlooked, and uncertain about my future. That little shop became so much more than a workplaceβit became a place where I rediscovered my confidence, my passion, and my purpose.
I cried for the incredible clients who trusted me with their beloved furbabies. I cried for the dogs who stole a piece of my heart and are no longer with us. So many of their memories are tied to that little shop. Their wagging tails, happy kisses, excited barks, and even the occasional stubborn grooming day will forever be part of the story of DogMom Grooming.
That building watched a dream become a reality.
It watched a one-woman grooming shop grow into a Mom & Pop business with my husband by my side. It watched friendships form, milestones be celebrated, tears be shed, and thousands of dogs walk through its doors.
But as emotional as today was, my heart is also full of excitement.
DogMom Grooming isn't endingβit's growing.
We're moving into a bigger space, expanding our services, and taking the next step toward building something even greater. We're preparing to hire employees, welcome more clients, and continue creating the luxury one-on-one grooming experience that started in that tiny shop years ago.
So today I'm allowing myself to be a little sad for what we're leaving behind... but I'm even more excited for what's ahead.
Thank you to every client, every dog, every friend, and every family member who helped make that little shop feel like home.
The first chapter of DogMom Grooming may be over...
But the next chapter is going to be amazing. π©·πΎ
