This week we will close early on Friday, July 3rd at 4:30pm and also be closed Saturday, July 4th so that our team can celebrate the holiday.

Please make sure if your pet needs meds, you call BEFORE FRIDAY to get them ready. If you call after 1 pm on Friday, we may not be able to fill the prescription for the weekend.

Happy Wednesday night, Dr Carnes here.

Dr Albert and I are currently stuck in the Chicago airport trying to get home.
If you have an appt tomorrow, call at 8 am and see when doctors are getting in.
It’s too late tonight to reach out to everyone who has an appointment tomorrow. At this moment we are scheduled to arrive in Louisville at 2:10 am. 😴

Announcement!
In the next couple of weeks we have some different doctor availability and operating hours than our normal:

June 19th and 23rd we have surgery ONLY days, this means there are NO Appointments available these days. If your pet is scheduled for surgery, that is the only thing that is happening these days.

June 20th we will be open for med and food pickup ONLY from 9am-12pm - there will be no doctor in the building.

June 22nd we will be open 8am-1pm for med and food pickup ONLY. There will be no doctor in the building.

We return to regular hours on June 24th.

The following posts are absolutely SCAMS. Please do not buy anything that says we are selling any type of MWAC merchandise. As we are not at this time.

These scammers keep popping up no matter how many I delete and block.

So, I am trying to limit posting by others (comments), which is unfortunate because we love hearing from you all but we also want to make sure no one takes advantage of you.

Worried you might disappear in one of our potholes?

Good news! We are getting them repaired- TOMORROW and WEDNESDAY!

Bad news: we cannot use our driveway during the repair or on Thursday…

Other news: we plan to still be OPEN- if you have a high clearance car and feel comfortable driving in the grass- come on down.
If you have a low car or don’t feel comfortable driving in the grass- please come TODAY or Friday!

We will be reaching out to everyone with an appointment scheduled during these days to let them know about the situation and give them opportunity to reschedule.

Hey everyone!

As you know we switched communication systems in September, then noticed in January we were not getting our reminders to you in a timely manner.
After conversations with the Great Pet Care people, Dr. Carnes decided that they were not serving us in a way that was helpful.
So we have switched communication systems again. 😬
Today we went live with a company called “Otto” - you can now text, send pictures and send videos to our 502-955-6822 number! (The videos thing is a new thing!)
This company also works more similarly to our old Vitus Vet that we used before.

We are excited about Otto and want to hear your feedback.
We are also sorry to have done a switcharoo more than once in the last year. But we feel like we were not serving you in the best way that we can.

We hope everyone stayed safe during the storms last night — both humans and animals! 🌧️💨

With strong winds and severe storms like we had, please be cautious and keep an eye out for wildlife that may have been displaced or injured.

Gray squirrels are commonly found after large storms because they can be blown out of nests or fall when trees come down.

If you find a baby gray squirrel, please try the reunification process first so mom has the opportunity to retrieve her babies. Rehabbers can raise babies, but mom always does the job best!

Dear clients,
We discovered last week that none of our vaccine and annual reminders have been getting sent via text message since October. We are horrified and have been digging to find the exact reason since the discovery.

Here is what we know now:
-email reminders were sent to everyone who has an email on file with us (only 47% of our clients)
-text message vaccine and exam reminders were not sent but will be sent in some capacity moving forward
-those who have overdue reminders dating all the way back to September, we will be reaching out over the next days to weeks to let you know.

If you think you have a pet overdue for things, please call. If you hate talking on the phone, download the Great Pet Care app and get registered with it- it will tell you any reminders you may have.
