New World Screwworm has been in the headlines lately, and you may be hearing about new medications approved to treat it.

Here's an important reminder: never give your pet any medication, including dewormers or parasite treatments, without your veterinarian's guidance. Products formulated for livestock are far more concentrated than what's safe for dogs and cats, and some pets, including certain breeds, are especially sensitive to ivermectin even at appropriate doses.

If your pet has been given the wrong medication or dose, call or chat with us at 800-213-6680.

Did you know many itchy dogs also develop skin infections? These infections can make itching more severe and won’t resolve without proper treatment. That’s why it’s important we accurately identify the cause of your pup’s itch. Give us a call today!
