Our Community Resource Pet Food & Supply Bank could use a little extra help! 🍂 We’re looking for donations of wet dog food to help local families keep their beloved pups fed and cared for.

Every can makes a difference for a pet and the person who loves them. ❤️ If you have extra wet dog food to spare, please consider donating it to Siskiyou Humane Society. Helping our community's pets starts with all of us! 🐾

❤️ Every dog deserves a place to feel safe. Remi might need one a little more than most.

Remi is about 3 years old and came to SHS with scars and cuts from an unknown past. She's a very nervous girl who finds comfort in small spaces. But once she gets to know you, something sweet happens: you become her person.

The photos in this post were taken over several days with our volunteers and Kennels Manager in her office. Remi can be a bit of a Velcro Dog once she feels comfortable, and one little moment absolutely melted our hearts: curling up to rest while keeping a paw on the Kennels Manager's foot. ❤️ Sometimes, the smallest gestures say so much.

While we'd love for ALL our dogs to experience the comfort of a foster home, we think Remi could especially benefit from a little extra time, patience, and space to feel safe outside the shelter.

Could you be that person for Remi?

And if she's not quite the right fit for your home, we'd love to help you find another dog who is! Our team will help match you with a foster dog, answer your questions, and provide the supplies you need to care for them.

You don't have to adopt to make a difference. Sometimes, giving a dog a safe place to land is life-changing. ❤️

Remi, and so many others, are waiting for their chance. Could you help give one of them a little more room to feel safe?

🐕🚨 ATTENTION SHEPHERD PEOPLE 🚨🐕

Do you have a soft spot for German Shepherds? Shepherd mixes? Dogs who look like they're about to ask you what your five-year plan is?

We may have a few dogs you'd like to meet. 👀😂

🐾 Stella – Our blue-and-brown-eyed beauty with the husky looks, Shepherd energy, and enough personality to keep you on your toes! She's playful, adventurous, and also a certified cuddlebug when the zoomies wear off.

🐾 Bubba – A handsome Shepherd/Pit Bull mix with energy to spare! Bubba adores people, is great with kids, and loves to go for walks! Bubba has also appeared at a few events, showing off his ability to chill while chaos ensues around him!

🐾 Bella – Beautiful, smart, housetrained, and ready for adventure. Bella is looking for her person, and she's got plenty of potential for learning, exploring, and making memories together.

🐾 Coco – Brains, beauty, and plenty of spirit! This German Shepherd girl is ready for someone who'll keep her mind busy and give her adventures worthy of her energy.

So, if your camera roll is 90% Shepherds, you know what to do. 😂

Did you know Siskiyou Humane Society has a Community Rehoming Program? Right now, there are over 20 dogs and cats looking for new homes through this program!

Sometimes, finding your perfect match means looking beyond the shelter. These pets are being rehomed directly by their current families, and they're looking for people to give them their next chapter. ❤️

For pets who need a new home, finding an adopter directly through their community can make all the difference. It also helps keep shelter space available for animals who have nowhere else to go.

🐶 Looking for a dog? Check the Community Rehoming listings at the bottom of our adoptable dogs page!

🐱 More of a cat person? You'll find the Community Rehoming listings at the bottom of our adoptable cats page!

Even if you're not looking to adopt right now, sharing these listings could help one of these pets find their person. You never know who in your life might be looking for exactly the companion who's waiting here. 🥹❤️

Please note: Community Rehoming pets stay with their current families and are not housed or evaluated by Siskiyou Humane Society. Contact the listed owner directly for more information.

Let's help these pets find their next home! 🐾🏡
