Once upon a time, in a pasture not so far away…
a sweet girl named Nikko was frolicking through the grass, minding her own business, when a grasshopper made one of the worst decisions of his life.

He chose her eyeball.

Nikko arrived at I-30 Animal Emergency with severe eye irritation, and when our team flushed her eye, we discovered that this was not your average piece of grass or dirt.

There was a whole grasshopper in her eye. 🦗👁️😭

The tiny intruder was promptly evicted, our princess is doing much better, and everyone lived happily ever after.

Well… everyone except the grasshopper.

This handsome guy, Thor, came to see us this weekend after he started limping. 🐾

After getting checked out, he headed home with some pain meds, activity restrictions, and strict instructions to take it easy.

Whether he actually plans on following those restrictions is between him and the Lord. 😂

💙 Meet Kayla! 💙

If you’ve called or walked through our doors, there’s a good chance you’ve been greeted by Kayla’s friendly smile.

Kayla has been in veterinary medicine for several years and is one of our amazing part-time receptionists. Her kindness, patience, and genuine compassion make every client and patient feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Whether she’s answering phones, checking in pets, or helping families during stressful moments, she always goes above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service.

We’re so thankful to have her as part of the I-30 Animal Emergency family! ❤️ 🐾

One of today’s patients had a badge. 🐾🚔

Goose, a local K9 officer, stopped by after picking up a minor injury while on duty.

A little TLC later, he was treated and released!

We love getting to care for the four-legged members of our first responder community. Stay safe out there, Goose… we’ll be ready if you ever need us again (but hopefully you won’t). 💙

You’re going to be seeing, and may have already seen, some new faces around I-30 Animal Emergency! Over the next few weeks or so, we’ll be introducing each of them here.

First up is Kyla, our newest Technician!

Kyla is upbeat, efficient, kind, and brings a great energy to the team. She’s the type of person who’s always ready to jump in and help, and we’re excited to have her as part of our crew.

When she’s not taking care of patients, she’s hanging out with her four dogs… Baylee, Chandler, Monica, and Rachel.

We’re so happy to have you on the team, Kyla. Y’all help us welcome her to I-30 Animal Emergency! ❤️ 💙

Some patients just steal your heart… and Delta was definitely one of them. 🐶

She came to see us for some mysterious swelling, received treatment, and is now recovering at home.

Our thoughts remain with her during this difficult cone-related chapter of her life. 😂💚
