💙🐾 Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾💙

This week, we’re celebrating our amazing veterinary technicians and all the hard work, compassion, and dedication they bring to our patients every day!

With a small team that cares BIG, we also want to recognize the incredible team members who are always willing to wear different hats. From stepping outside their usual roles to lend a helping hand to going the extra mile for our patients and their families, they remind us that veterinary care is about so much more than a job title. 🩺🐶🐱

At AcutePet, we’re grateful for every team member who steps up, supports one another, and helps us provide the best care possible. It takes a team with big hearts, and we’re proud of ours! 💙

Ask anyone who’s brought their pet to see us who made the visit a little easier, and there’s a good chance they’ll mention a vet tech. 🧡 They’re the gentle hands, the reassuring voices, and the quiet heroes who keep care moving for every pet that comes through our doors. This year’s National Veterinary Technician Week theme celebrates the soul of veterinary medicine, and we can’t think of a better description of our technicians.

To every AcutePet vet tech: thank you for the heart you bring to this work, every single day. 🐾 Has a vet tech made a difference for you or your pet? Tell us about them in the comments!

🐾 Two tiny miracles and one very strong mama! 💕🐶

We recently welcomed two healthy Boston Terrier puppies into the world after their mama came to us experiencing dystocia (difficulty delivering naturally). Our team performed a C-section to help safely deliver these little ones, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

Now, this sweet mama is resting, recovering, and doing what she does best — snuggling and nursing her precious babies. 🍼🐾

We’re so happy we could be part of their story and help give this little family a healthy start! 💗

Join us in wishing mama a smooth recovery and these two little pups a lifetime of love, health, and puppy kisses! 🐶✨

On World Mental Health Day and every day, a little kindness goes a long way. 🧡 Veterinary teams give so much to pets and their families, through the hard days and the happy ones, and it means a lot when you say thank you or share a happy update. At AcutePet, caring for pets goes hand-in-hand with caring for our team, and every kind word helps brighten a team member’s day. 🐾

🌀Hurricane season runs through November 30th, and the Lowcountry isn’t in the clear yet. A little planning now means you won’t be scrambling when a storm is on the way. Here’s how to get your pets ready:

✔Check that your pet’s microchip is registered with your current phone number
✔Put an ID tag on your pet’s collar
✔Know where you’ll go. Most hotels and shelters fill up fast, and there’s no South Carolina law that requires hotels to accept pets during an evacuation.

🏨 Find pet-friendly lodging ahead of time:

📍 For evacuation routes and pet-friendly shelter updates, follow SC Emergency Management at scemd.org.

Have questions? Call or stop by AcutePet Urgent Care – Mt. Pleasant. We’re here when your pet needs us. 🧡

There’s something pretty special about spending the day with the future of veterinary medicine. 🧡

We had such a great day at the 2026 Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Career Expo, talking with students about what a career at AcutePet Urgent Care can look like — from externships to life as a DVM and everything that makes our teams special.

Dr. John Anastasio represented our medical leadership and shared more about externship and DVM opportunities. Annie Gerding, DVM — and proud OSU alum — gave students a firsthand look at life as an AcutePet veterinarian, while Elissa Mohler, our Grove City Practice Manager, spoke to the support, culture and people behind our hospitals.

And THAT is our favorite part of days like this: students getting to hear directly from the people who are living our mission every day.

So many great conversations, so much excitement for what’s ahead, and a lot to be proud of.

Vet-Owned. People-First. And very happy to be a part of the Buckeye veterinary community. 🐾

💙 It’s National Do Something Nice Day! 💙

Today is an unofficial holiday dedicated to encouraging everyone to take a moment to do something kind—whether it’s for a stranger, friend, family member, coworker, or even a four-legged friend. 🐾

At AcutePet, compassionate care is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe that every little act of kindness matters.

Sometimes, it looks like offering a client a drink or snack, providing an activity to keep younger family members entertained, or simply taking an extra moment to make someone feel comfortable. Because our clients’ comfort matters to us. 💙

We also love finding little ways to show appreciation for our clinic family—whether it’s a coffee pick-me-up, keeping everyone’s favorite snacks and drinks stocked, treating the team to lunch, or celebrating each other’s accomplishments.

And, of course, kindness extends to our patients. 🐶🐱 Every small consideration—from helping them feel safe and comfortable to giving them a little extra patience and reassurance—can make a big difference when they’re in an unfamiliar environment.

Because sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can mean the most. 💙

What’s a small act of kindness you do to brighten someone else’s day? Tell us in the comments! 👇✨

😁🐾 Happy National Smile Day from the AcutePet crew! 🐾😁

Today we’re celebrating all the smiles that make our days brighter, including the faces behind the care 💙

From our staff’s biggest smiles to our patients’ goofy grins, tiny teefs, tongue-out smiles, and everything in between… our team finds joy in providing care to our fur friends in need.

Now it’s your turn! 👇
📸 Drop a photo of your pet’s BEST smile in the comments!
Bonus points for the goofiest grin. 🐶🐱

We heard it is national black dog day, so we just had to share one of our favorite boys.

This is Joe, AKA Joseph, Jojo, and pretty boy. Joe has had his fair share of visits to our urgent care due to GI upset, but this sweet boy will typically feel much better after a visit and is back to his energetic, loving self. 💙

09/28/2026

Due to unexpected circumstances, we will be closing early today, Monday, September 28 at 5:00 PM. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. If your pet has an immediate need, please visit our Summerville location.

We’ll be back to our regular hours this Friday and ready to help your pets with the care they need. 🧡

09/28/2026

When given the opportunity, we love a photo session with our patients. 📸

This sweet boy was recently adopted from a shelter, and not only stole his mom's heart, but the clinic team's hearts, as well. So naturally, we just had to share some of the photos that we took of Bijou. This photogenic boy even has the eyes to match our accented blues. 💙

🎉 Congratulations to Samantha, our Lead Client Care Representative at our Beavercreek location, featured in the North American Association of Veterinary Receptionists NAAVR's September Newsletter!

Her article, "There's No 'Just' About It: Why Investing in Yourself Matters," speaks to anyone who's ever had their job title undersell everything they actually do. Samantha writes about the many roles CSRs juggle — from client education to team support — and shares real, practical ways to protect your energy and set boundaries along the way.

With 16 years of experience in veterinary care, Samantha knows firsthand that CSRs are, in her words, "the heartbeat of the practice." We couldn't agree more. Thank you for representing AcutePet and advocating for CSRs everywhere, Samantha! 🐾

Picture yourself here. 📸🧡

That's exactly what we hoped IVECCS Career Fair attendees felt last night at our booth — welcoming spaces & friendly faces, ready to talk about what it's really like to be part of the AcutePet team.

So many great conversations with talented DVMs, techs, and future teammates. Grateful for every one. 🐾

09/12/2026

AcutePet is heading to IVECCS in Savannah, GA — and we're showing up in a big way! 🧡

Members of our executive leadership team will be joined by DVMs and RVTs from nearly every AcutePet location for continuing education, great conversations, and time together outside our hospital walls.

It's a rare chance to bring so much of our growing team together — and an even better one to meet the people who make AcutePet what it is.

Will you be at IVECCS? Look for our team throughout the week, and stop by the Career Fair to say hello:

📍 Booth 207 | Governor's Ballroom C
📅 Monday, September 14
⏰ 3:45–6:45 PM

Stop by, hear where AcutePet is growing, and snap an Instax photo with us. We'd love to help you picture yourself at AcutePet. 🐾

Happy Labor Day from the hardest working (and best flower-smelling) team at AcutePet 🧡

Fun fact: Boxers are officially classified as a working breed. Our team's boxers took that job title very seriously this weekend. Shelby, our HR Director, has two very dedicated employees: Selah clocked in with a measuring tape (very important renovation project, we're told), while Sunny supervised some tractor work. Our Finance Assistant Veronica's family got in on it too. Their boxer Bentley took the day to stop and smell the flowers.

Whatever "working" looks like for you today, we hope it involves good company and maybe a snack. Our teams are here until 4 if you need us, but we hope you don't 🧡

09/04/2026

Here's to a fun, relaxing end of summer! 🌞 We'll have abbreviated hours to help our team enjoy it too, with reduced hours on Monday from 10 AM to 4 PM. As always, you can book an appointment online if your pet needs us.

Wishing you and your pets a safe and happy Labor Day holiday! 🧡

08/26/2026

Happy National Dog Day from all of us at AcutePet! Whether they're curled up next to you right now or waiting at home for you to get back, dogs have a way of making everything feel a little brighter 🧡

We'd love to see yours. Share a photo of your dog in the comments today!

The countdown is on! 🧡 Our newest AcutePet Urgent Care location in Cincinnati (White Oak) opens Friday, August 28. Take a look back at some of what went into building this space, made with you and your furry family in mind. We can't wait to open! As we continue growing across the region, our mission stays the same: same-day, compassionate care when your pet needs it most. See you soon! 🐾
