It's so hot outside today. The first of many, I'm afraid. Please keep your pets inside other than potty breaks.

With this oppressive heat and humidity, it's easy for our pets to become quickly overheated, which can even more quickly turn into heat stroke.

Please do not bring your dogs with you on shopping trips. Even with the windows down, your vehicle can become an oven in a matter of minutes.

And pay attention to when and where you are walking your dogs. Asphalt can reach temperatures that will burn your dog's paw pads. We wear shoes; they don't. Walk them on grass, and in the shade, if possible.

Treadmill training- Part 3

This was the last part of Biscuit's 1st treadmill session. This was the last three minutes of a 15 minute introduction to the treadmill.

In this clip, he gets on the treadmill, happily, on cue. He's comfortable moving when the treadmill starts moving. Then, I increase the speed to a trot for just about 30 seconds, then bring the speed back down to a walk.

It is so important that we work at the dog's level of comfort. I saw him start to look for an exit, so I brought the speed down for about a minute, then stopped the treadmill and let him off. Then I gave lots of love.

This was his first time. We want to keep it short and sweet. We will start to slowly increase the speed and duration as he gets more confident. 😉

Treadmill intro- Part 2

In this video, Biscuit is being introduced to movement. This can be confusing for some dogs because the ground suddenly starts to move under their feet and they have to figure out how to keep up.

We start at a slow walking pace, and keep the repetitions short and sweet. I am rewarding along the way to keep him engaged.

Biscuit did awesome with this! 🎉🎊

Alrighty...since we had some interest in treadmill training, I will post videos today of our first candidate, Biscuit.

All of the videos I post today are from the same 15 minute session. Biscuit took to the treadmill immediately, but keep in mind that some dogs take quite a bit longer to build confidence with it.

This first video is the introduction. All I'm doing is allowing him to get on the treadmill, rewarding him while he's on it, then giving a release word to get off.

He had ZERO issues with this! 💪👏👏👏🙌🙌

Please help us welcome our newest team members to the Wagology family! 💪

Most of you have spoken with Taelor on the phone or seen her sit in on your private session or have had her start your private session. She's pretty awesome, right?! 😊

Madi just started today and is learning the ropes and asking all the right questions. She's going to be an awesome fit!🥳

Beth is also a new addition to the team 👏 🙌 I don't have a picture, but she is rocking the phones, and is our go-to for nutrition info! She's also just a lovely human with a heart of gold. 😍

What makes this group of amazing ladies so amazing, you might ask?
They are all current, past, or ongoing Wagology students!

How cool is that?! They have all been training with us for quite some time, and there is a reason I've invited them to join the team. Each have their own talents, and each of these ladies are assets to our growing training program.
