Pico recently had his mobile wellness visit with Dr. DiGate! 🐾

We believe in doing everything possible to safeguard your pet's comfort and well-being - including seeing them within a setting that they feel safe and assured. Inside your home, surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and people, and free of the distractions and changes to routine involved with a trip away from home, is in many cases an excellent choice!

💔🌈 Mount Laurel Animal Hospital, and the Blood Bank are very saddened by the passing of Porter, one of our fabulous blood donors.

Porter was adopted from a shelter by one of our staff members a couple of years ago, and he lived a very well-loved and adventurous life with his new family.

He did dock diving and Fcat (100-yard dash for dogs), and basically brought lots of chaos and fun to his family. In just a few short years he donated 13 times, and loved the snacks he got before and after each donation! Porter will be greatly missed, especially by his family.

We love you sweet boy, please keep his family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Sometimes, it starts with something as simple as noticing a bump.

When Rocky’s family noticed swelling on their 10-year-old German Shepherd’s front leg, they knew something wasn’t right and had it evaluated. Rocky was ultimately diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer that most commonly affects the limbs of large and giant breed dogs.

From there, Rocky’s care became a team effort.

Rocky underwent surgery with Kate Morris, DVM, DACVS, to remove the affected limb and, importantly, the source of significant pain caused by the tumor. His care then transitioned to Angela Taylor, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), who developed a chemotherapy and monitoring plan focused on treating his cancer while prioritizing his quality of life.

Today, Rocky continues to enjoy time with his family while receiving ongoing oncology care.

Rocky’s story is also a good reminder for pet owners: you know your pet best. A new lump or swelling, persistent limping, unexplained pain or a change in activity is worth a conversation with your veterinarian. Not every change means cancer, but noticing changes early and having them evaluated matters.

We’re grateful to Rocky’s family for trusting our team with his care and for allowing us to share his story.

Rigatoni recently had a mobile wellness with Dr. DiGate! ❤️🐈

Arranging for our veterinary team to visit your home may be a beneficial arrangement to pet owners, as well. You and your pet will receive the same excellent service and compassionate care as all our patients; however, a house call appointment with Mount Laurel Animal Hospital allows you to save time by avoiding loading your pets into the car and spending time at the hospital, waiting for your pet to be ready to leave.

If you're interested in making an appointment or have additional questions about house call services at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital, please call (856) 234-7626 or request an appointment online at mlahvet.com/house-calls/ 🐾
