Happie Hounds is looking for energetic, compassionate, dependable Pet Care Specialists who have a genuine passion for dogs and aren't afraid to get their paws a little dirty!
This isn't a job where you just get to play with dogs all day (although that's definitely a perk!). It's about understanding canine behavior, building trust, creating positive experiences, and making sure every pup in our care feels safe, comfortable, and loved.
🐕 The Mission: More Than Just Playing With Puppies
As a Pet Care Specialist, you'll be an important part of each dog's day! From supervising group play and providing one-on-one attention to keeping our facility clean and comfortable, you'll help make Happie Hounds a home away from home for our four-legged guests.
Every dog has a different personality, play style, and comfort level, and we believe great pet care starts with understanding those differences.
🦴 What You'll Do
🐾 Be a Pack Pro: Supervise daycare playgroups, recognize canine body language, encourage healthy socialization, and help maintain a safe, positive play environment.
🐾 Know Your Dogs: Learn each pup's personality, play style, preferences, and individual needs to ensure they're comfortable and having a great time.
🐾 Play With Purpose: Engage dogs in interactive play, provide positive attention, and help create enriching experiences beyond simply running around with friends.
🐾 Enrichment & Extra Fun: Assist with individual enrichment activities, one-on-one interactions, themed activities, and special experiences that keep tails wagging and minds working!
🐾 Care for Our Overnight Guests: Help with feeding routines, fresh water, potty breaks, rest periods, kennel care, and other daily needs for our boarding pups.
🐾 Keep It Clean & Cozy: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and welcoming environment by following daily cleaning routines, disinfecting play areas, washing dishes, and tackling the occasional not-so-glamorous doggy mess!
🐾 Be Their Voice: Pay attention to changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or overall well-being, and communicate concerns promptly to leadership.
🐾 Capture the Cuteness: Help document the pups' adventures through photos, report cards, and updates that give pet parents a peek into their dog's day.
🐾 Work as One Pack: Communicate with teammates, follow safety procedures, and jump in wherever needed to keep our days running smoothly.

✅ A Genuine Love for Dogs: You truly enjoy working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, personalities, and energy levels.
✅ Canine Curiosity: You're eager to learn about dog body language, behavior, group dynamics, and appropriate play. Previous animal care experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn is just as important!
✅ Patience & Compassion: You understand that not every pup is outgoing or confident, and you're willing to help dogs feel comfortable at their own pace.
✅ Attention to Detail: You notice the little things, from changes in body language to ensuring every pup receives the proper care.
✅ Dependability: Dogs need care every single day! You're punctual, reliable, and understand that weekends and holidays are part of the pet care world.
✅ Team Player Energy: You communicate well, support your coworkers, accept feedback, and bring a positive attitude to the pack.
✅ Physical Stamina: You're comfortable spending long periods on your feet, working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, handling active dogs, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
✅ A Strong Work Ethic: You understand that providing exceptional pet care also means cleaning, laundry, dishes, and lots of behind-the-scenes work!

🐶 A Little Reality Check!
We LOVE dogs, but this job isn't all puppy cuddles and adorable pictures!
Some days are loud, messy, muddy, physically demanding, and full of surprises. You'll spend plenty of time cleaning, picking up p**p, managing excited pups, and keeping up with a very active environment.
But if you genuinely love dogs, enjoy staying busy, and find happiness in making their days better, it can also be an incredibly rewarding job! 💛
