As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that the heat can be dangerous — and even deadly — for our pets. Here are a few quick ways to help keep your furry family members safe this summer:

💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water
🌳 Make sure pets have access to shade and air conditioning
🚫 Never leave animals in a parked car — even for a few minutes
🔥 Avoid walking dogs on hot pavement; if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
🐶 Limit exercise during the hottest parts of the day
😓 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion: excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, weakness, or collapse

Did you know arthritis is one of the most common conditions we see in older pets? Many dogs and cats slow down gradually, so the signs can sometimes be easy to miss.

Keep an eye out for:
🐶 Difficulty getting up or climbing stairs
🐱 Hesitation to jump or play
🦴 Limping or stiffness
💤 Sleeping more or seeming less active
😔 Changes in attitude or behavior
