Dr. Lynn Libby and Dr. Mary Ellen Nixon opened Companion Animal Hospital in 1995 under the preface of caring for pets and their people. Dr. Rebecca McAlonis became a part-time veterinarian in 2015. Companion Animal hospital welcomed two new full-time veterinarians in 2016, Dr. Amanda Emig and Dr. Casey Kauffman. Our most recent addition to our veterinary staff, Dr. Sarah Nissley, began working in

2017. Companion Animal Hospital provides preventative healthcare, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, endoscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography, acupuncture, canine rehabilitation, and many other services.

In celebration of Veterinary Receptionist week please be sure to thank our Customer Service Representatives! They are definitely the front line of our hospital as the first people you see/hear and the last when you leave! They've laughed with you, cried with you and loved on your pets like their own! We'd be lost without them. Shout out to Gwen, Ruth, Lisa, Julia, Tara, Alyssa, Allyson, Libby, and Bryanna!

We are so pleased to finally announce the results of our holiday fundraising efforts benefiting Raven Ridge Wildlife Center!
In addition to a large box of donated wishlist items, we were able to collect enough cash to purchase a lead testing kit, and also present a check for just under $800 in direct fund donations! We at Companion are so grateful for the generosity of our clients to aid our friends at Raven Ridge!

The volunteers at Raven Ridge gifted us in return with a visit from their ambassador animals at our team Christmas party; joining us for the festivities were Barron the black vulture, Pharaoh the great horned owl, GiGi the groundhog, Dottie the opossum, and Monster the skunk. Their handlers generously answered all our questions and allowed us to enjoy the beauty of these animals up close.

Due to the predicted inclimate weather expected on Monday 1/17/22, Companion will be opening at 8am. This will allow our team extra time and safer travel to work in the daylight. We will begin surgical admits and appointments starting at 8 am.

Fundraising update!

We are so appreciative of the contributions toward Raven Ridge Wildlife Center! Fundraising efforts will continue thru December 31st.

In addition to collecting wishlist items and cash towards a lead testing kit, we are now offering another way to give: if your pet has an appointment this month, or if you stop in for prescription food or medication, you may add a donation directly to Raven Ridge! A team member can add an amount of your choosing before checkout.

Also - we have raffle items!! We are offering a handmade quilt (generously made and donated by a client) and a new Vera Bradley purse (donated by a team member) - please look for them on display in our lobby! Tickets are $1 each, or $5 for 6 tickets. Winners will be drawn and contacted December 20th - just in time for last-minute Christmas gifting!

We remain so grateful for all the support shown for Raven Ridge Wildlife Center!

We are pleased to announce our holiday fundraising focus: Raven Ridge Wildlife Center!

Located in Washington Borough, Raven Ridge works to rescue and rehabilitate Pennsylvania wildlife such as skunks, foxes, groundhogs, squirrels, bats, opossum, and raptors (including bald eagles, hawks and vultures). Volunteers at Raven Ridge work around the clock to provide care for these animals, with the express goal of returning them to the environment where they belong.

We are offering several ways to give:
• Wishlist items may be donated and collected in our hospital lobby (see pictures for item list!)
• Cash donations may be collected in one of the jars at our front desk - these funds will be used to purchase a lead testing kit (critical for the rehabilitation of bald eagles)
• Stay tuned for other upcoming opportunities to give, including raffle items!

We at Companion have been honored to assist Raven Ridge in the care of several patients, and we are excited to demonstrate our respect for this non-profit organization. Please join us in supporting this outstanding local resource, and the wildlife that may be in your own backyard!
