Rip sweet man. For those that remember one of our best rescue stories… Fresco. We found him dying in the kill pen in 2018 and with the help of Penny Parker we pulled him, quarantined him and got him medical attention. He ended up at New Bolton for weeks with pneumonia and so many other health issues. He was a fighter and when he was finally out of the woods he came home to my barn to rehab, put weight on, get his teeth taken care of, body work etc. I called him grumpy horse because his face always looked so grumpy but he truly was a happy boy and ended up loving people and attention. A few years ago he went to live at my good friend Jennifer DePattos barn. She took the absolute best care of him. He had a huge comfortable stall, gorgeous pastures and friends to graze with every day. He lived his best years with her. She found him passed away and this morning in his stall… no sign of a struggle… just laying peacefully like he went in his sleep. I couldn’t have asked for a better life for this deserving rescue. Fresco, you will be missed but we know you’re in horse heaven with so many who have gone before you… romping around and eating all the grass ❤️ we love you Grumpy horse.
