Steve Irwin tragically died at age 44 on September 4, 2006, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming a documentary near Port Douglas, Australia

🐸🌿 Dart Frogs Are Here! 🌿🐸

These tiny amphibians may be small, but they’re packed with personality and fascinating natural history!

✨ Fun Dart Frog Facts:
🐸 Most dart frogs are diurnal, meaning they’re active during the day.
🌈 They come in an amazing variety of bright colors and patterns.
🌿 They thrive in lush, humid environments, making them perfect for beautifully planted vivariums.
🦟 Their diet consists primarily of tiny insects and other small invertebrates.
💧 Proper humidity, temperature, ventilation, and nutrition are essential for keeping these little guys healthy.

Despite their famous name, captive-bred dart frogs are not the same as poison dart frogs in the wild. Their toxicity is associated with their natural diet in the wild and is generally absent in captive-bred frogs fed a proper captive diet.

REHOMING REPTILES!

Sometimes circumstances change, and caring for a reptile or other animal may no longer be possible.

If you find yourself in that situation, please don’t release the animal into the wild or leave it without proper care. Reach out to us first!

Our reptile store accepts surrender inquiries on a case-by-case basis. Please understand that we cannot take in every animal that is offered to us. Each surrender must be reviewed and approved by the owners of the shop, who will determine whether we have the space, resources, and ability to properly take on that particular animal.

📩 Please contact us BEFORE bringing an animal to the store. We’ll ask for information about the animal, its health, size, species, and current situation so the owners can determine whether we’re able to accept the surrender.

Our priority is making sure every animal we take in can receive the proper care and attention it deserves. ❤️

If we’re unable to accept an animal, we’ll do our best to help point you toward other responsible rehoming or rescue options.

Please do not drop off or bring animals into the store without prior approval!!!

🐢 Meet Porkchop the Fly River Turtle! 🐢

Also known as the Pig-Nosed Turtle, the Fly River Turtle is one of the most unique freshwater turtles around!

🌿 Native to northern Australia and New Guinea
👃 Famous for its adorable pig-like nose
🏊‍♂️ Fully aquatic and an incredible swimmer
🦭 Has flipper-like limbs that make it look a bit like a sea turtle
🥭 Omnivorous, enjoying a mix of plant matter and animal foods
🥚 Females come onto land to lay their eggs
📏 Adults can reach around 2 feet in shell length
