You know what’s funny? Snakes get such a bad reputation, yet sometimes they’re a whole lot better than people! 🐍😂

Snakes don’t pretend to be your friend. They don’t act like they care about you while secretly hoping you fail. They don’t switch up on you when things get tough, and they don’t come around only when they need something from you.

Meanwhile, some of the people you call FRIENDS will be the very ones moving like snakes in the grass! 🐍🌿

Here at the reptile world, we appreciate snakes for exactly what they are. Beautiful, fascinating, misunderstood creatures that deserve respect, proper care, and a whole lot more love than they get! ❤️🐍

The difference between a real snake and a fake friend? A snake is just being a snake. It’s not pretending to be something else to earn your trust. 😉

So before you judge the snake in the enclosure, take a good look at the people in your circle! Sometimes the most misunderstood creatures are more deserving of your respect than the ones smiling right in your face. 💯

Let’s be honest… snakes make pretty awesome companions! They don’t care what you look like, what you drive, how much money you have, or whether you’re having a good hair day. They just want a comfy home, the right care, and someone who appreciates how amazing they are! 🥰🐍

🐍 Venomous vs. Poisonous: Do You Know the Difference? 🦎

These two words are often used interchangeably, but in the reptile world, there’s an important difference! 🤓

☠️ VENOMOUS = They inject it! Venomous animals deliver toxins through a bite, sting, or specialized structure. Think rattlesnakes, cobras, and some other snakes!

🧪 POISONOUS = You absorb it! Poisonous animals can make you sick if you eat them, touch them, or otherwise absorb their toxins. Some amphibians, like poison dart frogs, are well-known examples!

💡 Easy way to remember: 👉 If it BITES you and delivers toxins, it's venomous! 👉 If YOU bite it and get sick, it's poisonous!

🐍 Fun fact: Some animals can be both venomous and poisonous, depending on how their toxins work!

Listen, EVERYTHING with a mouth can bite! 😂 Whether it’s a dog, cat, hamster, bird, reptile, or even our shop employees (especially Mel!) they all have the ability to bite under the right circumstances.

The real question isn’t “Can it bite?” It’s understanding the animal, respecting its boundaries, and knowing how to handle it properly. ❤️🦎

Reptiles aren’t stuffed animals, and they deserve the same respect as any other animal. Learn their body language, respect their space, and remember that they’re animals, not toys. 💯

Anything with a mouth can bite. Respect the animal, don’t fear it! 🐍🦎❤️
