Let’s support the hard work the kids put in this year!!!! So proud of everyone of them!
There are some fair traditions that are about so much more than what happens in the ring.
The Morrow County Jr. Fair Livestock Sale is one of them.
For generations, families in our community have raised livestock, raised kids, and raised them to understand the value of hard work, responsibility, commitment and seeing a job through to the end.
Long before the fairgrounds fill with people, these kids are already working.
They've spent early mornings feeding. Late nights in the barn. Hot summer days washing, walking and practicing. They've learned that animals don't care if you're tired, busy, on vacation or would rather sleep in. They depend on you — every single day.
And somewhere along the way, they're learning lessons that reach far beyond the show ring.
They're learning responsibility.
They're learning patience.
They're learning how to win with humility and lose with grace.
They're learning to shake someone's hand, look them in the eye and say thank you.
They're learning that hard work matters.
For many families, this tradition has been passed from grandparents, to parents, to children — with generations standing along the same barns and show rings, sharing the same nervous excitement they remember from their own Jr. Fair days.
And on Monday morning, our community gets to be part of that tradition.
When you purchase an animal or place an add-on, you're doing more than supporting one project. You're telling a young person:
“We saw your hard work. We're proud of you. Keep going.”
That support may help pay for next year's project, college, a first vehicle, equipment, or whatever comes next — but the encouragement behind it can stay with these kids for a lifetime.
❤️ This is what a county fair is all about.
It's agriculture.
It's tradition.
It's generations of families.
It's neighbors supporting neighbors.
It's businesses investing in local youth.
It's 4-H and FFA. 🍀💙💛
It's hardworking kids becoming hardworking adults.
And it's a community showing up for the next generation.
Come fill the seats Monday morning. Raise a hand. Become a buyer. Add on to an exhibitor.
Most importantly, show these kids that Morrow County stands behind them.
