Meet our new doctor-Dr. Shannon O’Brien! Originally from Lady Lake, Florida, Dr. O’Brien earned her bachelor of science in the University of Central Florida in 2021 before attending Ross university school of medicine, where she graduated with highest honors in 2026.

Dr. O’Brien‘s professional interest include internal medicine, urgent care, and avian medicine. Her path to veterinary medicine was inspired in-part by her first dog, Bandit, who helped her realize she could combine her interest in medicine with her love for animals.

For Dr. O’Brien, one of the most rewarding parts of veterinary medicine is a human animal bond. She especially values the opportunity to care for animals while supporting the people who love them.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. O’Brien enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with her family, her partner, Jaden, and their pups, Bandit the Beagle and Tank the Chocolate Lab. We’re thrilled to have Dr. O’Brien joining us and look forward to introducing her to you!

Boop came in today for a recheck on his eye. Dr. Susana won him over with a little bit of fresh catnip we keep in the clinic for our kitty friends. We love you, Boop! 😸

Have you ever wondered what happens when your pet gets a dental cleaning? Our patients are watched closely by the vet techs, doctor, and monitoring equipment for the entire time they are under sedation. IV fluids keep your pet hydrated throughout the dental, and we track their body temperature, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and more. Once sedated, we take comprehensive x rays of the entire mouth which allows us to make sure the teeth are healthy. Once we remove all of the tartar from their teeth we take them off of anesthesia, and recover them with a vet tech who will call you as soon as they are ready to go home. This kind of dental cleaning keeps your pet healthy and prevents painful oral disease. For the month of August, we are offering 10% off of dental cleanings. Call us to book your appointment!
